The activity on the track continues for the Round 2 of the WSK Final Cup on the Franciacorta Karting Track in Castrezzato (Italy). After the first day on Friday, in which the qualifications and the first qualifying heats took place, on Saturday all the remaining heats were held for the seven categories present on the track: KZ2, OK, OKJ, OK-N, OKN-J, MINI Gr.3 and MINI Gr.3 U10. The two classes OK-N and OKN-J have also completed the pre-finals (scheduled for Sunday morning for the other categories) and the starting grids for their finals on Sunday have therefore been decided.

KZ2: perfect score for Tom Leuillet

Tyres: LeCont

  • Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) makes practically nothing mistakes. After the pole position obtained yesterday in qualifying, the Frenchman scores a double in the two scheduled qualifying heats and, with zero penalty points on his scoresheet, is firmly at the top of the intermediate classification.
  • Egor Nosov (Sumako IPK Racing – IPK – TM) remains in Leuillet's wake thanks to a victory and a third place, which earned him second place at the end of the day on Saturday. David Trefilov (Maranello SRP Factory Team – Maranello – TM) scored two second places and gained third place overall. Marek Skrivan (Sumako IPK Racing – IPK – TM) drops two positions and climbs to fourth place.
  • After a subdued qualifying, Cristian Bertuca (Birel Art Racing – Birel Art – TM) shifts into higher gear in the qualifying heats. The Italian, with a third and a fourth place plus a fastest lap, moved up the rankings by 12 positions and is now fifth.
  • Markus Kajak (KH Racing Team – Birel Art – Modena Engines) did well, sixth, followed in the standings by Ethan Frigomosca (Gerber Team Corse – Maranello – TM), seventh, and Matteo Spirgel (CPB Sport – Sodikart – TM), eighth. Five positions less in the standings for both Vladimir Verkholantsev (Sumako IPK Racing – IPK – TM), ninth, and Maksim Orlov (Modena Kart – Parolin – TM), tenth.
  • The winner of the first round Matteo Zanchi (Zanchi Motorsport – CRG – TM), from 19th to 11th, and Gabriel Gomez (CRG Racing Team – CRG – TM), from 23rd to 12th, also try to make their way. The ranking continues with Alex Maragliano (Renda Motorsport – Sodikart – TM), 13th, Menyhért Krózser (TB Racing Team – KR – TM), 14th, and Artem Severiukhin (Racing Line – Birel Art – TM), 15th.

OK: Dmitry Matveev holds the lead

Tyres: LeCont

  • There is no doubt as to who is the fastest driver in the qualifying heats: Dmitry Matveev (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME) scores two victories out of three scheduled races, "dirtying" his overall performance with a second place in heat A-D, where he is beaten by rookie Thibaut Ramaekers (VDK Racing – KR – IAME).
  • Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) is aiming for the podium again, after the one obtained a week ago in Lonato del Garda. The Italian driver recorded two first places, but in the second heat (A-C) he finished "only" fifth: results that allowed him to move up to second place in the intermediate classification.
  • Nice comeback of 12 positions for Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin – TM), now third thanks to three Top 3s. In the second race in OK, Ramaekers is shining noticeably: the Belgian, as mentioned, wins a heat and makes two fast laps. The VDK Racing driver currently occupies fourth position.
  • Solid performance from another rookie, Vivek Kanthan (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin – TM), fifth despite a 17th place in the last heat due to a 5 second penalty for the front nose in an incorrect position (and the lap quick in your pocket).
  • Still at the top of the rankings is Xavier Avramides (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), who went from fourth to sixth. The “Junior” European champion Olekansdr Bondarev (Prema Racing – KR – IAME) remains firm in seventh place, while David Walther (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) climbs from 17th to eighth.
  • Taym Saleh (Sauber Academy – KR – IAME) loses 7 positions and is now ninth, with Zac Drummond (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin – TM) tenth, Gustaw Wisniewski (Koski Motorsport – Tony Kart – IAME) 11th and Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) 12th. Followed by Simone Bianco (CRG Racing Team – CRG – TM), 13th, Noah Monteiro (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), 14th, and Ean Eyckmans (Leclerc by Lennox Racing Team – Birel Art – TM), 15th.
  • Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) is currently 17th. Further back Matheus Morgatto (Birel Art Racing – Birel Art – TM), 19th, while the new OKJ world champion Kirill Kutskov (DPK Racing – KR – IAME) goes from 34th to 21st.

Dries Van Langendonck (Forza Racing – Exprit – TM) is a real hammer and achieves three victories in the first three heats, while in the last one he limits himself to a fourth place. The OKJ world champion now has Filippo Sala (Ricky Flynn Motorsport – LN – TM) behind him, author of two successes and rising from 12th place in qualifying.
  • Three times second and with a fast lap behind him, Xiao Yu Sun (Ward Racing – Tony Kart – Vortex) took third place in the intermediate classification and placed himself behind Van Langendonck and Sala. Lewis Wherrell (Forza Racing – Exprit – TM) carried out a remarkable comeback of 19 positions (two victories for him) which earned him fourth position.

OK-N: Federico Rossi's coup

Tyres: Vega

  • The road seemed practically clear for Robin Sarg (Novalux – Lenzokart – LKE), but the qualifying polesitter had to deal with a sensational retirement in the prefinal on Saturday evening. • Rossi duels throughout the prefinal with Andrea Volpato (M2 Racing – Gillard – TM) and beats him by just 18 thousandths of a second. With this victory, the PRK driver obtains pole position for the final, while Volpato is second in the standings and conquers the front row.
  • Sarg has to "settle" for third place, ahead of Francisco Paredes Altamirano (MLG Racing – Parolin – TM), fourth. Leon Hedfors (DR – DR – Modena Engines) is fifth in the prefinal and will also start fifth in tomorrow's race.
