Favorable weather and temperatures characterized Saturday's 2nd round of the WSK Super Master Series in Lonato, at the South Garda Karting circuit. If for the drivers of OK and KZ2 the qualifying heats are over and tomorrow will resume track activity with pre-finals and finals, Mini and OKJ, on the other had, will complete the qualifying heats on Sunday morning.

Tomorrow morning, after the warm ups and the last heats, the pre-finals and the finals are scheduled to be streamed live on the website wsk.it

KZ2: Pollini tops the standings. The day ends with a crazy last heat!

• Giacomo Pollini (NGM Motorsport - Formula K / TM Racing), more consistent than ever, confirms that 4th place in qualifying was not a coincidence. He is in fact the leader after the closing of the heats, in front of Alex Irlando (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART / TM Racing) and an excellent Fabian Federer (SRP Racing Team - Maranello - TM Racing).


• But the classification is affected by the last heat. A kart in the last positions spilled water from the cooling system, right in front of the leaders who were fighting for the final victory. Riccardo Longhi (Birel Art Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing), Douglas Lundberg (Novalux Racing Team - Lenzokart - TM Racing), Matteo Viganò (Leclerc by Lennox Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing), Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) therefore remained involved in an accident caused by this technical problem and that definetly spoiled their race weekend ..


• Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K Racing Team - Formula K - TM Racing) came out unscathed in the last heat won by Viktor Gustafsson (Leclerc by Lennox Racing - Briel Art - TM Racing), in which he grabbed a 3rd place that puts him 4th in the intermediate general classification.

Jeremy: " I think someone lost water on the track. I was in third place and I saw Riccardo Longhi spinning. I immediately thought 'It must be water!' so I moved to the left to avoid the spill. This way I didn't crash, but I lost count of the laps. That's why, on the last corner, I didn't keep the proper line and my opponents overtook me easily"

Matteo:" I think there was a water spill. I saw Riccardo (Longhi) going wide at the double left-hander and when I realized that it was because someone had lost some liquid on the track it was already too late. I couldn't restart my kart and now the whole weekend is spoiled. Unless you start in the first three rows, things become difficult here in Lonato, where your pace can be at the very-very best only one tenth better than your opponents. Luckily, nobody was hurt"

OK: Andrea Kimi Antonelli takes the lead

• At the end of today's qualifying heats, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) took the lead in the final classification of the OK category. The Italian has the same number of victories Taylor Barnard (Rosberg Racing Academy - KR - IAME): both have 3 wins but the Englishman also came in sixth, unlike Antonelli, whose worst result is a third position.


• Pedro Hiltbrand (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex), thanks to a victory and three second places, goes to third place on equal points with Barnard, recovering seven positions. Behind him we find his teammate Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex), also the author of a victory in the same way as the Pole man Enzo Trulli (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) which concludes the round of batteries in fifth position.


• Dilano Van'T Hoff (Forza Racing - Exprit Kart -TM Racing), 6th, also lost two positions, at the end of the day he would have the same penalty points as Nikita Bedrin (Ward Racing - Tony Kart - Vortex), 7th.


• The standings also see Rafael Camara (Forza Racing - Exprit Kart - TM Racing) falling 5 positions behind, and Lorenzo Travisanutto (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) slipping back to ninth position.


• Thomas Ten Brinke (Ricky Flynn Motorsport - Kosmic Kart - Vortex) rounds the top-ten, recovering from the 14th position scored in qualifying.

OKJ: Brando Badoer wins 4 in a row

• After conquering the Pole Position, Brando Badoer (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) remains firmly in the lead of the OKJ classification with 0 penalty points thanks to 4 victories.


• The Italian is closely followed by the Londoner Arvid Lindblad (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) who ascored three winss but also a second place.


• Tymoteusz Kucharczyk (Birel ART Racing - RK -TM Racing), thanks to a victory and three second places, has made a leap forward of three positions compared to Qualifying that saw him clocking the sixth fastest time, putting Igor Cepil behind him (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME), also the author of a victory, and Karol Pasiewicz (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex), the first dirver with zero wins.


• Temporarily in sixth place,  with 11 positions recovered and with a victory in his pocket, Martinius Stenshorne (Rosberg Racing Academy - KR - IAME) precedes by a single point Alfio Andrea Spina (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME), also the author of an excellent recovery of seven positions.


• From seventh to tenth position we find, in order, Douwe Dedecker (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME), Matheus Ferreira (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) and the Russian Artem Severiukhin (Ward Racing - Tony Kart - Vortex), with the same number of penalty points as Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing).

MINI: Dmitry Matveev keeps the lead

• With 3 more heats still to race on Sunday morning, the standings at the end of Saturday's heats see well known drivers at the top and who, since the first race of the year, the WSK Champions Cup of Adria, have been dominating the category.


• Dmitry Matveev (Energy Corse - Energy - TM Racing), Gerasim Skulanov (Formula K Serafini - IPK - TM Racing), German Foteev (Energy Corse - Energy -TM Racing) and Rashid Al Dhaheri (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) respectively occupy the first, second, third and sixth positions of the unofficial intermediate classification.


• The Pole man Mark Kastelic (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - TM Racing) is 4th, while is worth mentioning the comeback of Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) is excellent, 23rd in qualifying, currently 5th (after the podium in the 1st round of the WSK Super Master Series).


• Slightly down the order, however, two drivers usually at the top; we are talking about Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin / TM Racing) and Maciej Gladysz (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin / TM Racing), respectively 13th and 27th. An unauthorized intervention by a mechanic in pre-grid on Gladysz’s kart before the Friday’s heats resulted in a diqualification.


• The exploits of Kirill Dzitiev (Energy Corse - Energy -TM Racing) and Oleksandr Bondarev (Gamoto - Tony Kart - TM Racing) are excellent. The Energy driver made up 18 positions from qualifying and places himself in ninth provisional position. The Gamoto driver does even better by recovering 31 positions and is 12th.


• Bad Jan Przyrowsky (AV Racing - Parolin - TM Racing) who retired in his first heat on Friday due to a chain failure. The 4th place in yesterday's Qualifying looks now so far away from the 24th position he is currently standing.
