The on-track activity continues in this Round 4 of the WSK Super Master Series at the Napoli International Circuit in Sarno (Italy). After qualifying and the first heats on Thursday, the remaining heats for all competing categories concluded on Friday: KZ2, OK, OKJ, OKN-J, MINI Gr.3 and MINI Gr.3 U10. At the end of this day, the starting grids were decided for the pre-finals on Saturday, the last day of competition for this event.

KZ2: Maksim Orlov confirms himself in excellent form

Tires: Vega

  • After the pole obtained on Thursday, Maksim Orlov (Modena Kart – Parolin – TM Kart) achieved two victories and a second place in three heats. An almost perfect weekend so far, which the Modena Kart standard-bearer will try to capitalize on in the Saturday races.
  • Marcus Kajak (Maranello SRP Factory Team – Maranello – TM Kart) was also very consistent and, thanks to two second places and a victory, just ahead of Orlov, managed to place himself in second place at the end of the preliminaries. Behind him Artem Severiukhin (BirelART Racing – BirelART – TM Kart), third.
  • The dominator of round 3 in Franciacorta, Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex), placed fourth thanks to a victory and two third places. Behind the Frenchman, in a great comeback compared to qualifying, with 11 positions recovered, Michael Barbaro Paparo (Monster K Factory Team – CRG – TM Kart).
  • Sixth and seventh place respectively for the two Tony Kart standard bearers Genis Civico Espona (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) and Francesco Celenta (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex).
  • The series leader, Cristian Bertuca (BirelART Racing – BirelART – TM Kart), was only eighth, with a second place as the best result of the three heats. Ninth, however, was Marijn Kremers (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex).
  • Closing the top 10 is Daniel Vasile (BirelART Racing – BirelART – TM Kart). The Romanian driver, second in the championship standings, was given a 5" penalty for an early start which risks affecting his weekend.

OK: Bondarev takes (almost) everything

Tires: LeCont

  • Pole position on Thursday, second place in Heat 1 and two victories in the remaining heats. The Sarno track seems to be particularly congenial to Oleksandr Bondarev (Prema Racing – KR – IAME). Will he be able to confirm this state of grace also on the final day?
  • The only heat that Bondarev failed to win was won by David Walther (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex). The Dane, in the remaining tests, obtained a second and a third place, which ensured him the place of honor at the end of the preliminaries.
  • Behind Walther, Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) and Ean Eyckmans (BirelART Racing – BirelART – TM Kart) both recovered four positions compared to qualifying, placing themselves in third and fourth position respectively.
  • However, Tiziano Monza (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) climbed two places, fifth, followed by Salim Hanna (Prema Racing – KR – IAME), in sixth place, and David Cosma Cristofor (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), seventh. The Romanian KR Motorsport driver was the "victim" of a 5" penalty in the second heat, due to the front spoiler being in the incorrect position.
  • Closing out the top 10 are Gino Rocchio (Monster K Factory Team – CRG – TM Kart), eighth, Xavier George Avramides (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex), ninth, and Elio Pappacena (Ward Racing – Tony Kart – Vortex).

OKJ: consistency rewards Niklas Schaufler

Tires: Vega

  • The consistency of results in the three races rewards Niklas Schaufler (DPK Racing – KR – IAME). Thanks to two second places and a victory in Heat 2, the Austrian leads the group at the end of the qualifying heats.
  • Schaufler is followed by Iskender Zulfikari (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), fresh from a third place in Heat 1 and a victory in the last race. Behind him, third, Christian Costoya (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin – TM Kart). The Spaniard, after the victory in Heat 1, then obtained a sixth and fifth place respectively in the following two races.
  • Fourth place for Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) at the end of the three heats. Behind him, in fifth place, Dean Hoogendoorn (AKM Motorsport – KR – IAME), who due to a 15th place in Heat 2, was unable to reach a higher position in the standings, despite a third and fourth place in the other preliminaries.
  • Ilia Berezkin (Monster K Factory Team – Intrepid – TM Kart) placed sixth, followed by Dries Van Langendonck (Forza Racing – Exprit – TM Kart). The Belgian driver is unable to go beyond the 5th place obtained in the second heat, in a weekend that so far has proven to be lackluster, especially in terms of the final.
  • Rather positive weekend so far, however, for Ryutaro Sakai (CRG Racing Team – CRG – TM Kart), eighth, and Filippo Donazan (AKM Motorsport – KR – IAME), ninth, after the previous events in which they had never managed to collect points. Closing the top 10 is Scott Kin Lars Lindblom (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex), who manages to enter the top 10 despite a 21st place in the second race.

OKN-J: Bogdan Cosma Cristofor leads the group

Tires: Vega

  • The championship leader, Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (Forza Racing – Exprit – TM Kart), is in the lead at the end of the qualifying heats on Friday. For him a victory and a second place which, added to the sixth place obtained in the first heat, temporarily ensure him the leadership.
  • Behind him is Ludovico Mazzola (Team Privato – Exprit – Vortex), thanks to a third and second place, respectively in the first and last heat, as well as fifth place in race 2. The top 3 is closed by Alex Molota (Firefly Racing Team – Gillard – TM Kart). For him a victory and a second place, but also a 10" penalty in Heat 3, which cost him a 13th place in the race and two positions in the general classification.
  • The same "podiums" as Mazzola were achieved by Valerio Viapiana (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME), who however paid for a sixth place in Heat 2, therefore finishing fourth at the end of the preliminaries. Behind him, Nico Carfagna (Modena Kart – Parolin – TM Kart), fifth.
  • Giacomo Giusto (Modena Kart – Parolin – TM Kart) wins Heat 2, but the results of the other races do not allow him to go higher than sixth place. Behind him, Cristian Tonalini (BirelART Racing – BirelART – TM Kart).
  • Lorenzo D'Amico (EMME Racing – EKS – Modena Engines) placed himself in eighth place, a good six positions compared to yesterday's qualifying. Closing the top 10, however decreasing, are Gioele Carrer (Scarpi Racing – Parolin – IAME) who climbs from pole position to ninth place, and Nujus Stasionis (Team Driver Racing Kart – KR – IAME), tenth after starting the qualifying rounds from sixth box.
