Two days of rain and a very unstable weather at the Karting World Championship in Lonato penalized the course of the race.
A succession of contacts, penalties and more...was an issue for all teams.
Our drivers Michele Fontana and Enrico Bernardotto from the first day proved to be very fast on the dry track, always keeping in the top five.
With the rain in qualifying the tactical decision to go with the rain tires placed Fontana in front until the last lap in the last 30" when stopped raining and the tires penalized him by sliding to 11th place.
Bernardotto, on the other hand, earned a 19 position.
In qualifying, they placed 14th and 16th P respectively on Saturday and on Sunday in 15th and 20th P. Qualifying defined the starting grid in all heats and for our drivers starting from the 7th and 10th rows, with very variable weather conditions, it was not at all favorable. Multiple contacts and fair penalties, they took away the chance to go to the Final.
Nevertheless, we had the opportunity to demonstrate our competitiveness by relying on a very high-performance kart-engine combination.
We thank the new collaboration with Viti Racing and SRP that confirm our choice to improve the performance of our team.
All right...great experience!
The next must-see event will be from October 14th to 17th at the RoK International Final.
