On the occasion of the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship for the shifter categoris in Belgium, our Racing Team consistently holds top positions throughout the weekend.
The 2026 edition of the FIA Karting European Championship for the KZ and KZ2 categories starts in Belgium. The Tony Kart Racing Team attends the first round, held at the Genk circuit, with the Tony Kart Racer 401 T chassis at the grid for both classes, proving its competitiveness throughout the event.
In KZ2, Maximilian Schleimer immediately shows off in his first race with our racing division, steadily running in the top positions throughout the weekend in a category with a total of 81 participants. The German driver sets the second-fastest time in Group 2 of qualifying and secures three wins and a second-place finish in the subsequent qualifying heats. After running at the lead of the Super Heat A for almost all Sunday morning—finishing in second place—he secures a front-row start for the afternoon final. At the grid of the final race, our driver immediately joins the battle for the lead and remains in contention for the podium throughout all 23 scheduled laps.
Gradually improving his results throughout the Belgian event, until gaining the third-place finish in Super Heat A, Genis Civico Espona gains a total of fourteen positions in the combined standings between qualifying heats and the super heats. Starting from the fifth row, the Spanish driver performs a brilliant jump at the starting grid of the final and finishes the race in the top 10.
First time with our Racing Team for Nicola Rossini this season, at his first time familiarizing with the Genk track, while Thomas Pradier is forced to stop his weekend due to an injury occurred in Friday’s first qualifying heat.
In KZ class, our lineup consists of Lorenzo Camplese, Tom Leuillet, and Matteo Viganò, working tirelessly alongside our staff throughout the weekend. In the final, Camplese initially leads our team before giving space to Leuillet, who finishes the race in the top 10.
Soon, the Tony Kart Racing Team will face the second round of the ACI Italian Karting Championship in Muro Leccese (May 29th–31st) and the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in Mülsen, Germany (June 3rd–6th).
