At the Motorsportarena Mülsen (Germany), venue of the third round of the FIA Karting European Championship OK-OKJ, the OTK Kart Group Engine Division finishes the OK class final in third place with Valerio Viapiana (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OK – Despite changeable weather throughout the weekend, our “Senior” engine keeps a strong position in the standings and closes the European round with a podium finish. Gilles Herman (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Jindřich Pešl (Tony Kart Racing Team) record the third-fastest times in their respective qualifying groups. Subsequently, Vortex Engines secures a victory, three top-three finishes and a fastest lap in the qualifying heats.

The final sees Valerio Viapiana (Tony Kart Racing Team) author of a comeback of 51 places between qualifyings and super heat. The Italian driver performs a stunning start, gaining 14 places on the first lap, and continues his race to end in third place. Due to the rain, three laps to the end, the final ends with the red flag being displayed, confirming Viapiana’s place on the podium.

Pešl is the second-best Vortex driver in the standings, with a comeback of not less than nine places from the start. Behind him, there are Endo Arata (Tony Kart Racing Team), Herman and Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OKJ – The OTK Kart Group’s engine division is also making its mark in the ‘Junior’ class, following the podium finish gained in the Champions of the Future Euro Series, the previous week. Julian Frasnelli (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Emerson MacAndrew-Uren (Tony Kart Racing Team) are among the drivers who have made the best comebacks in the provisional standings: the Italian gains 62 places in the qualifyings and the Super Heats, also setting a fastest lap in the heats, while the British driver recovers 32 places. Both have attended the Sunday afternoon’s final.

Academy-Senior – The FIA Karting Academy Trophy continues in Germany, the championship promoted by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in which OTK Kart Group is involved as the sole supplier of Exprit Kart chassis and Vortex engines for all participants, on the occasion of the second round dedicated to the “Seniors”. Sunday afternoon’s final awards Filip Planeta (Czech Republic), first on the finish line ahead of Albert Lapper (United Kingdom) in second and Vanesa Šilkūnaitė (Lithuania), in third position.
