Great and hard-fought finals at Cremona Circuit, with victories for Rossi (OK-N), Goldstein (KZ2), Laitinen (MINI Gr.3), Godschalk (MINI U10), Orlando (OK-NJ)

With the Finals at Cremona Circuit, the intense fourth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship came to an end, marked by the highest number of drivers in the Tricolore across five categories, with 312 drivers verified out of 320 entries, coming from all over the world and all 5 continents, representing 52 nations.

The duels were particularly heated in the two new categories OK-N and OK-N Junior, which reached a record participation of 190 drivers, and once again the MINI Gr.3 and MINI Under 10 categories recorded excellent entries, with 90 drivers in total, along with the high-performance KZ2, which had a strong grid of 32 starters.

After the previous rounds in Ugento, Viterbo, and Sarno, this fourth event also introduced new protagonists who further stirred up the championship standings ahead of the final round scheduled in Franciacorta on September 21.

Winners of the fourth round in Cremona.
The Prefinals on Sunday featured the top contenders who then battled it out in spectacular finals. These are the winners of the finals:
OK-N: Federico Rossi (ITA) (PRK - Tony Kart/TM Kart/MG).
KZ2: Elie Goldstein (BEL) (TB Kart Racing Team – TB Kart/TM Kart/Vega).
MINI Gr.3: Leo Laitinen (FIN) (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin/TM Kart/MG).
MINI U10: Wynn Godschalk (USA) (Kidix – KR/Iame/MG).
OK-NJ: Michele Orlando (ITA) (Team DR – DR/Modena Engines/MG).

OK-N – Rossi overturns the odds.
It was the reigning Italian champion Federico Rossi (PRK - Tony Kart/TM Kart/MG) who claimed victory in the final and overturned the predictions that had Manuel Scognamiglio (Tellone Motorsport - KR/Iame) as the clear favorite. Scognamiglio led only in the early laps of the final, after securing pole through the heats and winning Prefinal-A just ahead of Rossi. In Prefinal-B, the win had gone to Andrea Giudice (Marra 61 Kart Racing – Tony Kart/Vortex). After the first few laps, Rossi managed to take the lead while Scognamiglio dropped some positions. The arrival of rain “froze” the race under slow regime, and the red flag ended the final on lap 14 out of the scheduled 18. Victory went to Federico Rossi, ahead of Finland’s Mike Parhiala (Kohtala Sports – CS55/Vortex) and Poland’s Julius Ociepa (Novalux - Lenzokart/LKE). Scognamiglio finished fourth, ahead of Greek driver Philippe Karras (Beyond Racing – Kosmic/Iame) and Ilia Berezkin (Kalì Kart Racing – Kalì Kart/TM kart). Scognamiglio remains championship leader, with Rossi now in second place.
Final OK-N:
1st Rossi Federico (ITA) 14 laps
2nd Parhiala Mike (FIN) +0.337
3rd Ociepa Juliusz (POL) +0.749

KZ2 – For Goldstein, a valuable win in the wet.
Rain stopped just before the KZ2 final started, but the track remained wet and made the race tricky throughout. A great battle saw a strong pace early on from Angelo Lombardo (Maranello/TM Kart/Vega), surprise winner of the Prefinal ahead of Finland’s Kimi Tani (LA Motorsport – Parolin/TM Kart) and Riccardo Longhi (Birelart Racing – Birelart/TM Kart). Lombardo also took the lead in the final, but was soon overtaken by several contenders including Spain’s Genis Civico (CL Racing Team – Birelart/TM Kart), championship leader Elie Goldstein (TB Kart Racing Team – TB Kart/TM Kart), and fellow TB Kart driver Andrea Pirovano. On the finish line, Civico took the win, but a 5-second penalty for a dropped front fairing handed victory to Belgian Goldstein, a crucial win that increases his championship lead. Pirovano was promoted to second, with Civico holding on to the podium in third. Fourth was Michael Barbaro Paparo (Monster K Factory – Monster Kart/TM Kart), while Longhi, penalized 5 seconds, finished sixth behind Riccardo Rigodanza (Parolin-TM Kart). Seventh was French driver Enzo Lacreuse (DR/Modena Engines). The KZ2 Master win went to Davide Forè (IPK Factory Team – IPK/TM Kart) after a similar front fairing penalty for Lombardo. Andrea Pirovano won the KZ2 Under 18.
Final KZ2:
1st Goldstein Elie (BEL) 18 laps
2nd Pirovano Andrea (ITA) +1.215
3rd Civico Genis (ESP) +4.671

MINI Gr.3 – Laitinen wins in a sprint against Gorun.
Finland’s Leo Laitinen (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin/TM Kart/MG) won the MINI Gr.3 final after also taking victory in Prefinal-B. Following several lead changes during the race, Laitinen crossed the line first in a last-lap sprint ahead of American Victor Thomas Gorun (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart/Vortex), who staged a great comeback. Third at the line was Scotland’s Mason Robertson (Kidix – KR/Iame), with Niccolò Perico (Team Driver – KR/Iame) in fourth, also after a strong recovery. Fifth was Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio (Kidix – KR/Iame), who had won Prefinal-A.
Final MINI Gr.3:
1st Laitinen Leo (FIN) 9 laps
2nd Gorun Victor Thomas (USA) +0.048
3rd Robertson Mason (GBR) +1.110

MINI U10 – Godschalk wins Prefinal and Final.
After winning the Prefinal, American Wynn Godschalk (Kidix – KR/Iame/MG) also claimed the Final, taking the lead early and holding on for a thrilling finish ahead of Polish driver David Aagten (CRG Racing Team – T-Group/TM Kart), fellow American Zayne Burgess (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin/TM Kart), Guido Ebergenkyi (Kidix – KR/Iame), and American Colton Schniegenberg (Ward Racing – Tony Kart/TM Kart). Championship leader Platon Kovtunenko (Borsch Racing – KR/Iame) of Ukraine was forced to retire after initially leading. Among the front-runners was also American Josh Bergman (Kidix – KR/Iame), who led briefly but finished eighth. Kovtunenko remains championship leader.
Final MINI U10:
1st Godschalk Wynn (USA) 9 laps
2nd Aagten David (POL) +0.733
3rd Burgess Zayne (USA) +0.853

OK-NJ – Orlando wins after a spectacular final.
In the end it was Michele Orlando (Team DR – DR/Modena Engines/MG) who took victory in a thrilling final, beating the other two stars of the weekend, Gioele Girardello and Albert Tamm, both representing Modena Kart, in a sprint to the line. The three drivers battled fiercely throughout with several lead changes, and it was Orlando who emerged victorious in the final moments. Among the top contenders was also Portugal’s Xavier Lazaro (Team DR – DR/Modena Engines), who was forced out by a late race incident. Ukraine’s Oleksandr Legenkyi (Team Driver – KR/Iame), championship leader until this Cremona round, had to settle for sixth place. Girardello now leads the standings, followed by Tamm and Legenkyi.
Final OK-NJ:
1st Orlando Michele (ITA) 16 laps
2nd Girardello Gioele (ITA) +0.342
3rd Tamm Albert (SUI) +0.445
