The WRT Karting Academy, an initiative created by the prestigious WRT team to support young Belgian karting drivers, has a new first-class partner: Xeramic, the world-wide reference in lubricants in the world of karting.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s the world leader in lubricants in the world of karting (whether it is two-stroke oil, chain lubes, or brake cleaning fluids...) Xeramic celebrates its 20th birthday this year. In an ever evolving world a sign of quality, if ever there was one!
Ton Koebolt, CEO of Xeramic, decided to support the WRT Karting Academy by offering the four young members - Ugo de Wilde, Xavier Handsaeme, Antoine Potty and Charles Weerts – all the necessary lubricants for the 2016 season. In the past, numerous drivers got into Formula 1 after putting their confidence in the Xeramic products. Jenson Button was one of them, as was Fernando Alonso or - more recently - Max Verstappen. The young Dutchman still is an ambassador for the brand with which he drove to many a victory during his karting years.
"I appreciate the WRT team a lot and I think their idea to promote karting is fantastic", Ton Koebolt explains. "I know Vincent Vosse and his team very well. Not only do we share the same passion, we also have the same ideas on car racing. For example, we both are of the opinion that single-seaters are not the only way towards a professional career in racing. You have to realize that to get into F1 you either have to be an extraordinary talent - like Max Verstappen - or have a solid financial base to be able to afford all the necessary seasons in single-seaters. As there are many drivers who do not have those necessary budgets, many of

them are unable to take all the necessary steps on the racing ladder..."
And is where the WRT and Xeramic philosophies reach common ground. "If a young driver wants to become a professional, he or she has to be open for the notion that the future might lie in touring cars, or GT races, or endurance racing", Ton Koebolt states. "When I see that Maxime Potty, a member of the WRT Karting Academy in 2015, races in TCR Benelux this season, than I have to say that his efforts are an excellent promotion for karting as well. With the Academy, WRT creates a real filière, and for a driver wishing to start a career in 'tintop' racing, WRT is one of the best teams in the world. They take care of every detail, whether it concerns the car, the environment in which the team works, the way the drivers are prepared or the communication on their activities. That is why Xeramic is very proud to enter a partnership with the WRT Karting Academy!"
Vincent Vosse, co-CEO of WRT, is very enthusiastic about the new project as well. "We have always stated that we wish to support our drivers in many different ways", he explains. "The products the members of the Academy receive thanks to the gracious support of Xeramic are part of the things we can offer them, next to the start or results bonuses they receive. In the name of the four members of the WRT Karting Academy I would like to thank Xeramic and Tom Koebolt for their support!"
