The new 2017 approvals for chassis, brakes and fairings is almost upon us. There is, however, no lack of Indiscretions or anticipations. The most recent ones come from the Social Networks where a picture of the new fairings kit produced by KG, the world leader in the manufacturing of karting accessories, was published.
A careful analysis of the kit mounted on a Mad Croc chassis reveals how the improvement of the CX (Aerodynamic Resistance Coefficient) was the company's main goal. Without doubt, as in the past with the 505 model (here a focus tech on TKART Magazine), the computerised development phase played a key role in using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software to study the best possible air penetration.
The center of the front spoiler has a more rounded shape compared to the 505 model spoiler, and it is larger at the side areas at the height of the front wheels. This increase in size could have been designed to the detriment of weight, which will probably not be reduced compared to the 505 spoiler. An interesting feature is the introduction of the transparent divider to be applied to the spoiler to improve airflow at the driver's feet.
The front bumper has a wrap-around shape while in relation to the lateral plastic parts we can see how the shape to the right and left is tapered and identical.
On an aesthetic level, the kit appears to be well proportioned and certainly, while waiting for approval, we can say it is already considered reasonably attractive to enthusiasts.
