The month of February was great for OTK in the United States as the most popular karting brand in the world amassed nineteen victories and forty-seven podiums in the Sunshine State of Florida. Taking on rounds three and four of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series and round two of the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour (FWT), the brands of Tony Kart, Kosmic, FA and Exprit were all present on the podium steps.
The SKUSA Winter Series was first on the calendar as teams and competitors travelled back to the AMR Motorplex in Homestead, Florida. Taking on the upgraded facility on the grounds of the Homestead-Miami Speedway, OTK drivers scored twelve wins and thirty podium finishes.
In the headline X30 Senior class, Ryan Norberg provided Rolison Performance Group (RPG) and Kosmic a pair of victories over the weekend. Taking the top honors on both Saturday and Sunday, Norberg was joined on the podium by Orsolon Motorsports driver Christian Brooks in second and RPG's Patrick Woods-Toth in third in an OTK podium sweep. Sunday saw Woods-Toth back on the podium in the third position providing OTK five of a possible six podium results.
X30 Masters and Orsolon Racing driver Renato Jader provided OTK with another pair of victories. Securing the checkered flag on both Saturday and Sunday, Jader was joined on the podium by Speed Concepts Racing pilot Scott Roberts on Saturday with a second place effort. Speed Concepts Racing standout Luca Mars had another double podium weekend as he leveled up from his second place result Saturday to top the podium blocks on Sunday in X30 Junior. Orsolon Racing garnered another podium result with Diego Contecha on Sunday with his third place effort.
New Tony Kart dealer and race team Supertune has exploded onto the scene in 2019 and they continued
their success in SKUSA competition. Mini Swift standout Kai Sorenson had another double podium weekend which included a third place finish on Saturday and a victory on Sunday. Orsolon Racing's Jack Jeffers stood on the Mini Swift podium with a third place result. Fellow Supertune driver Karsyn Walters secured second and third place results in Micro Swift while Luis Umana, competing out of the AM Racing program, added a second place finish and Jack Iliffe secured a third pace result.
FA Kart and Nash Motorsports driver Nathan Martin and Kaos Karting and Kosmic Kart pilot Julia Boos swapped the top two positions over the course of the weekend in KA100 Senior as each driver scored a second place result and a main event victory. Santiago Biagi claimed the KA100 Junior win on Saturday aboard his AM Racing prepared Exprit chassis and returned to the top step of the podium on Sunday in an OTK sweep. Biagi again claimed the race win as Team Felon driver William Cox joined him on the podium in second and Mateo Rubio-Luengo in third.
Additional second place podium results came from Zack Skolnick in 206 Senior racing out of the Ventresca Seberras (VSR) Racing camp on a Tony Kart and Dan Monteiro in Masters Shifter aboard a Rolison Performance Group prepared Tony Kart. VSR Tony Kart driver Andre Duek topped the podium blocks on 206 Masters adding another victory for OTK.
Less than a week later, OTK branded drivers were back on track at the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour. Taking place on a temporary circuit in the shadows of the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, another seven wins and seventeen podiums were claimed.
Renato Jader continued his winning ways in the Masters division as he once again topped the podium in ROK Masters. Competing out of the Orsolon Racing program, Jader has secured multiple wins in 2019 as he looks to secure championships in both IAME and ROK competition. Orsolon Racing did not stop with a win in just Masters. ROK Senior standout Christian Brooks returned to the top step with his win and was joined by teammate and fellow OTK Tony Kart driver Eduardo Barrichello, son of former Ferrari Formula One driver Rubens Barrichello.
It was a podium sweep in three different ROK classes last weekend as OTK took the top three positions in 100cc Junior, Mini ROK and Junior ROK. Santiago Biagi continued his winning ways in 100cc Junior and was joined on the podium by Speed Concepts Racing driver Kyffin Simpson in second and Chloe Chambers in third. Kai Sorenson scored his second win in as many weeks taking the checkered flag in Mini ROK as he and Supertune teammate Anderson Leonard finished first and second. Riccardo Ianniello, aboard an NF Motorsports FA Kart, joined the duo in third. The third and final OTK podium sweep of the weekend came in the ROK Junior class as Luca Mars was once again on top. As one of the fastest junior drivers in the country, Luca Mars and Speed Concepts Racing are a force at each and every event weekend. Alessandro De Tullio and his NF Motorsports Kosmic Kart and Enrico De Luca added second and third place podium results.
Two more race wins came from the Micro ROK and Shifter Masters classes as JC Karting driver Beckham Jacir , Kosmic and Goodwood driver Luis Schiavo, added race winner beside their name in their respective classes. Karsyn Walters secured her third podium result in as many races in Micro ROK while JC Karting's Daniel Dibos and his Kosmic chassis joined Schiavo on the Shifter Masters podium with his third place finish.
