WHEN KARTING WAS MORE ABOUT LAUGHING...

Our third race in late October is a clear example. We showed up at the Torneo delle Industrie in Parma, a rather prestigious event. That time it was just Dante and I in action [...]
And we really looked like we were there by accident. Of course, we were the last two of the qualifyings and we spent the final dueling amongst ourselves, while the field doubled us thirty times or so… but it didn’t matter, just like it didn’t matter that our rivals had trucks and we had a boat trolley. What really mattered was having passed Dante on the last bend of the last lap - not for the standings, but because it was something to joke and laugh about with the guys of the crew, especially the astonished look on Dante’s fat face that peered through his huge visor. With him everything turned comical and he always ended his account of that race by saying “I’m a-already at the fi-finish and, w-what do you know, the ba-bastard slips pa-past me!”, while prentending to hit me.
