For the 2015 homologation session, DR Racing presented a brand new product and the evolutions of two previous models, one totally “restyled” and the other an “optimized classic“.
Let’s start from the latter, the S97. In keeping with the specifics of its homologation license, which is valid for the next 7 years, its geometry (with all tubes 30 mm in diameter) has been modified to improve corner entry and enhance lateral lean-in bite, while maintaining excellent straight-line speed… Not bad as a technical optimization!
Of the three products, the true innovation for 2015 is the M99: same shape as the S97, but with the diameter of the front, center, and rear cross tubes increased to 32 mm.
The third product is the M92–15: technically it is the restyled version of the M92, but the “make-over“ was so thorough that it can be considered a new product all together. Here the frame geometry is again the same as the S97, but the tubes are all 32 mm in diameter.
The new and improved DR Racing chassis line represents a great range of choice in terms of chassis stiffness, offering three tubing diameter solutions: the S97 – all 30 mm, the M92 – all 32 mm, and the M99 – mixed 30 and 32 mm. There is a product for every racing class out there, whatever its technical specifications, and the greater diameter option can finally satisfy drivers concerned with durability.
