DFM Racing, a manufacturer which has been active in the racing world since 1990, is a company which distinguishes itself for its artisan production process. Amongst the 6 homologations presented throughout its history, the model the most stands out is the Nascart S which has always been the company’s top model, originally introduced in 2002 and then re-homologated in 2017. Like the flagship models of many other manufacturers, the Nascart S is homologated both for the KZ and OK/OKJ categories and, in the last 2 years it has achieved victories at a national level, including the Italian KZ3 Team Championship in 2018 and the Italian KZ2 Cup with Antonio Piccioni as the official driver. Compared to the original design, some solutions are still utilized, the latest version of the chassis has been revised in almost all of its main characteristics. The wheelbase has been lengthened while the front and rear axle widths have been increased. The rear bearing cassettes, where the axle bearings are located are completely new and made of magnesium alloy. The tubes, on the other hand, are still 32 mm in diameter, a choice which ensures a greater resistance to the typical stresses of a demanding category like the KZ. Amongst the particular features of the chassis, we note the tube on which the seat support is welded and perpendicular to the main longerons. At the front stands out the tubes which start from the “Cs” and join each other in the steering column area. In addition to the geometry, Franco Stinchelli, owner of DFM Racing since 2017, has thought of bringing the chassis in step with the times with regard to other details such as the seat attachments and the assembly of the shifter lever,  now more traditional compared to the more structured and comfortable system that was used previously. The modification was necessary because of the transition to using the fuel tank manufactured by KG instead of the Freeline model by Birel ART. On the other hand, what remains unchanged is the distinguishing trademark of the DFM Racing brand, which is the manual TIG welding with high-quality chrome molybdenum tubes.

Regarding the braking system, DFM Racing has opted for the R4KZ models for the shifter version and the R4K for the single-speed chassis, both produced by Intrepid. The choice was influenced by the need to reduce the weight of the chassis as much as possible so as not to encounter problems in falling within the overall minimum limits required, whatever the size of the driver. More specifically, the brake system dedicated to the KZ features two-piston monobloc aluminum calipers both in the front where they measure 28 mm, and at the rear where the measurement is 30 mm. The pistons are drilled to improve ventilation and keep the oil temperature from increasing. The front discs are available in two sizes, one with a diameter of 149 mm and 11 mm thickness, or 155 mm x 12 mm. Two choices are available for the rear disc as well, which maintains a diameter of 195 mm while offering two different thicknesses of 16 or 17 mm. As for the brake pads, in sintered material, the choice is between a soft and a harder compound. The master cylinder, with integrated oil recovery tank, is equipped with a 19 mm piston. Additionally, the KZ version features a brakeforce distributor.
