THE KIT (FROM 100 EUROS) OF SPARE PARTS SO AS NOT TO RUIN YOUR KARTING DAYS

We can say it: 100 Euros won’t change your life... But they can save a karting day. In fact, how many times has it happensed that you go on a track with your kart and have to stop because, following a breakdown or malfunction, you don’t have a trivial spare part costing a few Euros that allows you to continue the day on the track! In these cases there are only two solutions: contact the track store (assuming there is one and that it has the spare part you are looking for, perhaps at a non-stellar price) or start asking the other drivers on the track (who usually, and rightly, prefer to hold on to the spare parts they have available). Indeed, there is a third option: pack everything up and go home. To avoid this, we have selected a set of spare parts, worth a total of 100 Euros, that you absolutely must have with you when you go to drive on a track. These are components that can suffer sudden wear or that can break frequently and without warning (but take only a few minutes to replace). In addition to these, of course, it is essential to have the right instrumentation for assembly, hex wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. .. - and all the small parts, screws, nuts, bolts, clamps which must always be in the toolbox & spare parts of every kart driver (we have dealt with all these elements in the articles, "How to |  All kart driver tools for track assistance"  and "How to |  The kit of the expert mechanic at parc fermé (and all the ways to use it)"). As always, if you then think you need to add more for completeness, do not hesitate to say so in the "Contributions" section at the end of the article. The TKART community will be grateful to you!

THROTTLE CABLE

One of the causes of downtime during a day on the track can be the breakage of the throttle cable. It is a metal wire with a diameter of 1.2 or 1.25 mm, which undergoes a lot of stress during karting sessions. The continuous sliding inside the sheaths and the folds to which it is subjected, especially at the ends, are the main causes of fatigue and consequent breakage. It is advisable, therefore, to always have a new spare one, so as not to be found unprepared, also because it has a decidedly negligible cost. The proposed cable has a metal braid of the "Swedish" type that gives greater flexibility, a diameter of 1.25 mm and is 1.8 metres long, with a 2.8 x 2.8 mm cylinder at the end.
