SEEN ON THE TRACK: 7 ACCESSORIES (PLUS A BONUS) SEEN IN THE PADDOCK TO TACKLE A DAY OF KARTING IN HIGH TEMPERATURES (OVER 35°C!)

With rising average global temperatures, track days with temperatures above 30°C are becoming increasingly frequent. In these conditions, the challenges for karters increase: it's essential to optimize the kart's setup and choose the right accessories to prevent its components from overheating (for more information, read "Must Have | 5 essential accessories to improve the cooling of karts" and "How To | All the accessories to lower the engine's temperature"). At the same time, however, it's essential to cope with the high temperatures in the paddock, where drivers and mechanics, under intense physical stress, must adopt solutions to cool down and relieve heat-induced fatigue. During the second round of the WSK Euro Series, held from July 1 to 5, 2025, at the Cremona Circuit (about 100 km south of Milan), the thermometer reached 38°C with 54% humidity, creating particularly challenging conditions. These days on the track allowed us to observe how karting professionals cope with the intense heat, adopting practical and effective solutions. We've selected seven of them, ranging from accessories used during breaks or while working on the kart, to garments that improve breathability and lower body temperature. Finally, a "bonus" accessory that has sparked considerable curiosity in the paddock.

Editor's Note
In this "Must Have" guide, we've selected a series of products and accessories designed to combat the heat on the slopes, which are particularly useful on the hottest days. Wet Microfiber Cloth

The most common solution adopted by drivers at the Cremona Circuit to combat the heat was the use of wet microfiber cloths. These cloths were placed on the head and shoulders, particularly heat-sensitive areas, to quickly lower body temperature. To keep them in place, many drivers secured them with a hat, which not only held the cloth in place but also offered additional protection from direct sunlight. The product we recommend, made by New-Line Racing, consists of a set of 10 40x40 cm microfiber cloths, ideal for this type of use.
