The counter is a tool that should always be part of the standard kit of every kart driver. In fact, these electronic devices that connect to the ignition cable of an engine, which are activated automatically when they sense the kart is switched on and allow you to monitor, precisely, the time of use of the chassis and the engine, in order to comply with the routine maintenance plans that each manufacturer of kart components prescribes for its products. In fact, compared to common road cars and motorcycles, karts require a very different approach to maintenance (if you do not know the "musts" related to karts and their use because you are a beginner, read "
How to | First time on the track with the kart? 8 things you absolutely need to know"). Usually on road vehicles the various parts and components change when they break. With karts, on the other hand, maintenance methods must be adopted closer to those used for airplanes. So many of the components of a kart are replaced after a defined number of hours of use (even if they still work), before breaking. This allows continual optimal performance and protects against faults and breakdown that often generate considerable damage, with a higher cost than the price of the single piece that needs to be replaced. This is precisely why we have examined the digital hour meter market and we tell you about four models that we have found on the main online stores specialised in products for karts. These are devices that differ in construction characteristics, functionality and installation methods on the engine.
N.B. Do you think there are other hour meters that deserve to be highlighted? Do not hesitate to share them with other TKART users in the "Contributions" section at the end of the article. The community will be grateful to you!
