At the first round of the WSK Final Cup in Lonato, the Modena Racing Kart team took two podiums for Parolin Racing Kart. Alessio Piccini finished 3rd in the KZ2 Final, while Alessandro Truchot finished 3rd on his debut in OKN-Junior. Parolin Motorsport placed Lorenzo Travisanutto in the top five in KZ2, but Christian Costoya's retirement in OK was disappointing.
Costoya had made a good start to his second race in OK. 2nd fastest, 5th after the heats and second in his Prefinal with the fastest lap, the young Spaniard was pushed off the track on the fifth lap of the Final. Belgian Beau Lowette made up 10 places in the heats and climbed another four places in the Final to finish 22nd. The OK-Junior Final was not easy for Giacomo Giusto and Qarrar Firhand, both of whom were penalised. In the Mini Gr.3, Juan Garciarce battled right to the end of the Final to confirm his 3rd and 5th places in the heats, while Lorenzo Zuchetto made up 12 places to 20th in the Mini U10 Final.
Lorenzo Travisanutto put in a solid performance in KZ2 with two 4th places in the heats and another 4th place in the Prefinal. He finished in the Final top five. Meanwhile, Alessio Piccini of the Modena Racing Kart team made a superb five-place comeback in the Final and finished on the podium.
In OK-N, Bartosz Grzywacz of the LA Motorsport team battled for a long time in the top five before finishing in 8th place. Finally, Bruno Blanco (LA Motorsport) took 1st and 2nd places in OKN-Junior before losing ground in the Final scramble and settling for 8th. In his first race in this category, Alessandro Truchot (Modena Racing Kart) put in an excellent performance, making up 19 places during the heats and winning his Prefinal. He ended up on the third step of the podium, while his team-mate Gioele Girardelli, 2nd in Qualifying, finished 7th.
"Whether with the official Parolin Motorsport team or the satellite teams, our brand once again showed its strong competitiveness in the seven categories of this event", declared Marco Parolin. "We were represented by a number of young drivers with great potential. This will enable us to work on a good basis with a view to next season. I'd also like to congratulate our friends from the Babyrace Driver Academy on their winning double in Mini Gr.3 with Julian Frasnelli and Mason Robertson, as well as Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio's Mini U10 podium.”
Parolin Motorsport will be back on track in a week for the second round of the WSK Final Cup at Cremona.
