FIA Karting Academy Trophy, Genk - FINAL: Connor Zilisch gives an encore

The American strengthens his leadership in the championship thanks to his second win in a row. Theo Micouris is second ahead of Maceo Capietto who climbs up to second place in the general standings.

Connor Zilisch (USA) ends in the best way a weekend that started fighting in mid-pack after the 17th time obtained in qualifying. However, the American managed to get to the front row for the final and, after a start in which he momentarily lost a position, he took the lead on the second lap. From that moment on, the tussle that broke out behind him allowed him to reach the finish line unchallenged and to stake a claim for the championship.

In second place, just under half a second from the leader, we find Theo Micouris (Great Britain) who recovered 5 positions to finish ahead of Maceo Capietto (France), who now sits in second place in the standings.

Many of the protagonists, however, lost ground in the fight for the top positions that broke out immediately after the start. Ariel Elkin (Israel), able to climb up to third place, ends 17th behind Keanu Al Azhari (ARE), who loses 10 positions from the start. For the poleman Tom Braeken (Belgium) things went even worse, as he had to withdraw from the race on lap seven following a contact.

The drivers who make the most out of Albin Stureson (Sweden) and Rafael Modonese (Peru) who thus manage to recover 5 and 11 positions to finish 4th and 5th. On the other hand, Zachary David (Philippines) arrives sixth and, despite starting from the second box, immediately becomes involved in the brawl in which he becomes the protagonist of an overtaking to the limit on Matteo De Palo (Italy). Following the maneuver, the Italian loses ground to thirteenth position, the same in which he will cross the finish line.

Alex Powell (Jamaica), seventh, gains one position, and precedes Schu Dozono (Japan) and Santiago Vallvé (Spain), who both completed a comeback of 12 places. Jonathan Weywadt (Denmark), tenth, retains the third position in the championship. Maxime Furon-Castelain (Luxembourg) who was second in the standings after the first round, on the other hand, does not collect even a point here in Genk and ends the final in 18th place.
