MP Academy Gamoto officially takes shape, a new entity in the karting scene resulting from the collaboration between MP Motorsport, a Dutch team mainly active in Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula Regional and Formula 4 competitions, and Gamoto, an Italian team with forty years of experience in the most important international karting races.
This unprecedented project aims to create a pathway for young drivers who, starting from the MINI categories up into the FIA Karting championships and then all the way up through the FIA single-seater series, where MP Motorsport is active in all levels.
A lifelong motorsport enthusiast, Henk de Jong (owner of MP Motorsport) decided to acquire Peter de Bruijn Kart Racing which has a great technical collaboration with Parolin. This way there is a guarantee for top equipment in all divisions of karting through the karting brands Falcon and Henza. These brands are both produced by Parolin.
In this context Gamoto, led by Vincenzo and Salvatore Gatto, comes into play. They have achieved numerous successes in the classes aimed at younger drivers, with notable names such as Gabriel Bortoleto and Dennis Hauger, currently starring in F.2. The Brazilian previously raced with MP Motorsport, while the Norwegian has been part of the Dutch team for two years.
MP Motorsport, Kartstore International, and Gamoto are united by a single philosophy: all three entities are family-run, with a long and strong history behind them. This factor was crucial for all parties to find a natural agreement regarding the establishment of the partnership.
MP Academy Gamoto, which will concentrate its operations in Italy, aims to nurture its drivers and support them at every stage of their karting career, eventually guiding them to their debut in car racing with MP Motorsport. Vincenzo and Salvatore Gatto's team will participate in series promoted by WSK Promotion, the Italian ACI Karting Championship, the Trofeo Margutti, and the Trofeo delle Industrie, in MINI Gr.3 U10, Mini Gr.3, OKNJ and OKN categories. Participation in one or more single-make championships is still under consideration.
MP Karting will be the name of the sports division that will compete in the OK and OKJ classes in FIA Karting and WSK Promotion competitions. It will be based in Oud-Beijerland (Netherlands), a few kilometers away from MP Motorsport's headquarters in Westmaas. Run by Willem Jan Keijzer who himself has many years of experience in these categories.
All drivers of MP Academy Gamoto and MP Karting will use new homologated chassis under the Falcon and Henza brand.
