Pole position for Tony Kart in Rodby
TKART Staff
13 June 2023

Best qualifying time in the OK category for our Tony Kart Racer 401 RR, with the French Arthur Poulain, on the occasion of the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in Denmark.

Turning point for the Tony Kart Racing Team at the Champions of the Future Euro Series, leader in Rødby (Denmark) at the third out of five rounds scheduled for this 2023. An important appointment, in view of the next round of the FIA Karting European Championship, faced as usual with our top model, the Tony Kart Racer 401 RR, powered by the VTS and VTJ Vortex engines (the "engine division" of OTK Kart Group) in the OK and OKJ categories, respectively.

In OK, Arthur Poulain celebrates the weekend with the best possible result, the overall pole position, thanks to a time of 49.955 seconds. The French driver continues the weekend with two victories, a second place and a fastest lap, as well as a second position in the Super Heat, confirming his attendance at the top of the ranking. At the start of the final, Poulain cannot avoid a series of collisions with his rivals and goes back to sixth place, while maintaining the running rhythm of the leading drivers. At the end of the 25 laps scheduled, our driver ends the race close to the Top 5: an encouraging result in view of the next round of the FIA Karting European Championship, staged in a few days just on the same Danish circuit.

Sebastiano Pavan is also very fast right away, so much so to set the best time in his group, equivalent to third place overall in the combined ranking of the qualifying heats. The Italian driver, recently author of a podium on the occasion of the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship at Třinec, gains two podiums in the heats, but in the Sunday morning Super Heat he is forced to stop. A result that forces him to start from the back of the grid in the final, which certainly doesn’t facilitate Pavan's comeback.

Luigi Coluccio gets familiar with the Rødby track during the qualifying heats and easily reaches the final, as well as Jan Przyrowski. Interesting results also from Zoe Florescu Potolea and Jakub Rajski, in close contact with our team throughout the event with the aim of finding the right feeling with the circuit in view of the next round of the European Championship.

In the OKJ category, Scott Kin Lindblom is our best representative on the track. The Swedish driver proves to be competitive in the qualifying heats, where he gains four fastest laps and two second places as his best results. Also due to the start from the outside row with respect to the direction of the first corner of the circuit, the Swedish driver is the victim of a collision immediately after the start, but, despite this, he firmly maintains control of his vehicle. Lindblom, at the end of a hard-fought race, will be among the top ten drivers of the weekend.

Kirill Dzitiev's performance is growing, able to move up not less than 16 places in the intermediate ranking and to record the best lap in Super Heat B. In the final, our driver stages a further comeback of 21 positions. Maria Germano Neto collects several satisfactions: in qualifying, once again, she is the fastest driver of our Racing Team in the hunt for the best lap time; in the eliminatory heats, then, she obtains two fourth places. Unfortunately, due to a stop in Sunday morning's Super Heat B, she cannot attend the final. Hard weekend also for Davide Bottaro and Alp Hasan Aksoy, while Thomas Quince makes his official debut with our official colours.

The OK and OKJ category drivers prepare for Round 3 of the FIA Karting European Championship in Rødby (June 15th–18th).
