“Villa and Bagheri show speed in new TB Kart chassis”.
The first event of the 2022 karting season started on a high note for TB Kart USA as a pair of podiums and four top-ten finishes amongst two drivers were highlighted by an outstanding win in the headline X30 Senior class on Saturday at the AMR Motorplex. Changing their program for the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series, Edoardo Villa and Farshad Bagheri worked out of the Speed Concepts Racing tent and utilized Speed Lab Racing Engines in their hunt for podium results.
“What a great weekend and a great way to start a new year of racing,” explained TB Kart USA’s Farshad Bagheri. “The factory has been working hard to develop a chassis that can compete at the front of the field in not only shifter, but TaG competition as well and I think they found it. Congrats Edoardo on your victory, a feat in his first event at the challenging Homestead facility.”
Utilizing Speed Lab Racing Engines, Villa drove like the professional that he is as he not only managed his tires but attacked when he needed to attack. Methodically working his way to the point and controlling the pace of the race, Villa was eventually passed and reached the checkered flag in the second position. With the pace to win, Villa was awarded the victory after the on-track race winner failed post-race technical inspection.
Returning to the track on Sunday, Edoardo had a less than average qualifying performance that saw him deep in the talent filled X30 Senior field. With weather playing a role in the day’s wheel-to-wheel action, Villa started outside the top-twenty before moving forward in the prefinal. Saving the drive of the day for the main event, the TB Kart factory pilot again advanced his way into the top-ten with an eventual eighth place result.
With Villa scoring the win on Saturday in X30 Senior, it was Bagheri who stood on the podium at the conclusion of the on-track action with a second-place finish in the Shifter Master class. Improving from his fourth-place classification the day before, two podiums and four top-ten finishes for the TB Kart brand shows the strength of the new 2022 chassis.
Bagheri continued, “We have 2022 chassis in stock and more on the way. We are looking to continue our momentum into this weekend’s ROK Cup USA event and onwards into February’s races. It’s not too late to be part of our program.”
With no time off, TB Kart USA will travel to the ROK Cup USA promoted Florida Winter Tour event this weekend at the Isle Casino in Pompano Beach, Florida. With five drivers set to take to the temporary circuit in Pompano Beach, Bagheri will be the only competitor who returns to the lineup as he will be joined by Rene Martinelli, Morne Van Taak, Scott Presti and Kori Matthews, who will all compete in the ROK Shifter Master class.
