On the occasion of the second and final round of the championship, in Sarno, our Tony Kart Racer 401 RR - in a hard weekend due to the difficult weather conditions - hits third place in the OK final with official driver David Walther.
Here comes again another seasonal podium for our Tony Kart Racing Team at the WSK Euro Series, on the occasion of the second round on the Sarno track. The leader, once again, is the Tony Kart Racer 401 RR, powered by Vortex's VTS (OK) and VTJ (OKJ) engines. Outstanding results also for our Tony Kart Rookie, paired with the VTM engine of the OTK Kart Group's engine division.
In OK category, David Walther is our main representative in the "Senior" category. The Danish driver, in only his second attendance with our sports division, is consistently among the top ten drivers throughout qualifying and the eliminatory heats. Sunday's rain significantly shuffles the cards, but our driver gives his best on the wet track and hits the third step of the podium.
Luigi Coluccio is also in contention for a Top-3 result, as proved by the best time set in Sunday morning's warm-up and subsequent fourth place in the prefinal. The Italian driver jumps perfectly at the start of the final and climbs to fourth position, but subsequent brawls and a 5-second post-race penalty for the front fairing in the wrong position prevent him from getting the podium.
Jan Przyrowski and Sebastiano Pavan show all their speed, but have little luck. Jan performs really well, as evidenced by his 12-lap comeback in Heat 2 and by his third place in the next heat. However, the weekend is concerned by two stops, in Heat 1 and in the final. Final result of the weekend not very different also for Sebastiano who, due to an accident in the prefinal, caused by a sudden rainstorm, cannot even attend the race on Sunday afternoon.
In OKJ, Scott Kin Lindblom emerges as one of the main contenders for the title, having triumphed in the first round of the championship at Franciacorta. The Swedish driver manages to make his way through the qualifying heat, where he records a second-place finish as his best result, and closes the prefinal in third position. Unfortunately, the difficult track conditions due to bad weather and a start in the middle of the group do not allow Lindblom to climb positions. Interesting lap times set by Scott Marsh, Davide Bottaro and Maria Germano Neto, despite the variable weather experienced throughout the event.
In Mini Gr.3, Ilie Tristan Crisan is among the fastest drivers on track: the Canadian achieves a victory and a third place in the qualifying heats, gains the second position in the intermediate ranking and, in addition, scores the fastest lap in the prefinal. Thanks to these performances, Tristan Crisan is a candidate for the role of the protagonist of the final: already in the early stages, he runs in the third place and only in the last corners he loses the lowest step of the podium. Ludovico Mazzola, author of a second place in the prefinal, also finds his space in the Top 10. The Italian driver and Tristan Crisan close the championship in the Top 5.
Bruno Blanco is our third best bearer in Sunday's final, followed in the standings by Leonardo Gorski, able to recover a total of 12 positions. Making his debut in the category, Sebastian Eskandari Marandi signs a third place in the first eliminatory heat and fights in the final for the Top 10. Oliver Sini gradually grows over the weekend, thanks to the constant work of our staff.
In MINI Gr.3 U10, Achille Rea turns out to be the fastest in Group 1 of the qualifying practices (with a time of 01:03.663) and finishes second in the combined standings. The Italian driver continues with a success in the qualifying heats and a fourth place in the prefinal, while in the last race of the weekend he is able to recover not less than 4 positions from the starting grid, thus hitting the Top 5, despite the extreme wet conditions. Solid race by Tiberius Müller, who finishes with an 11-position comeback in the final.
After competing in the Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Sarno, the Tony Kart Racing Team will be back on track at the South Garda Karting in Lonato to attend the first out of two WSK Final Cup rounds (November 16-19).
