Tony Kart, the curtain falls on the COFT at Franciacorta
TKART Staff
29 September 2023

Our Tony Kart Racer 401 RR, with the Racing Team driver Scott Kin Lindblom, is in contention until the very end for a place in the Top 3 in the OKJ final, on the occasion of the last round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series.

The Champions of the Future Euro Series 2023 officially ends with the final round held at the Franciacorta Karting Track (Italy). In a race that represents the last bench test to try technical and setup solutions in view of the FIA Karting World Championship that will be held just on this track on next October 8, our Tony Kart Racing Team proves once again to be competitive, with the Tony Kart Racer 401 RR powered by Vortex VTJ competing until the very end for a place on the podium in the OKJ category. Convincing performances also in the OK class, once more with the Racer 401 RR chassis combined with the VTS unit of the OTK Kart Group engine division.

In OKJ, after claiming victory in the recent round of the WSK Euro Series, Scott Kin Lindblom returns to Franciacorta among the candidates for the final victory. The Swedish driver shows off his skills during the qualifying heats - where he is able to gain a victory and a fastest lap - and triumphs in Super Heat B on Sunday morning, thanks to a comeback of 6 positions. He jumps brilliantly from the outside line in the final, but he is forced to avoid an accident, an episode that forces him to give up some positions. Despite the initial hitch, Lindblom begins to climb the ranking and, by a matter of a few tenths of a second, comes close to a podium place.
An excellent start of the weekend for Kirill Dzitiev with the second best time in Group 1 in qualifying, followed by two victories and four podiums in the qualifying heats, plus a third place in Super Heat B. With this series of results, Dzitiev gains the second place on the starting grid of the final and, during the first laps, is able to keep the top positions; unfortunately, he is forced off-track and finishes the event just outside the top ten. Good performance for Alp Hasan Aksoy in the eliminatory heats, with a third place (and a fast lap) as his best result. In the final, the Turkish driver makes numerous overtakes, gaining a total of 19 positions, hitting the Top 15. Davide Bottaro also does well, taking second place in a qualifying heat and finishing in the top fifteen, with a comeback of not less than 11 positions.
After his positive debut with our colours on the occasion of the WSK Euro Series, Scott Marsh emerges as one of the protagonists of the category on Thursday and Friday thanks to a victory and two Top 3 places in the qualifying heats. However, two stops in the Super Heat and in the final prevent the British driver from obtaining a major result despite the performance shown on the track.
A weekend in continuous growth for Maria Germano Neto, with two second places in free practices and a fifth one gained in Saturday morning's warm-up. Interesting lap times also for Thomas Quince, always at the side-to-side with our staff to further refine his driving skills.

In the OK category, Jan Przyrowski opens the Franciacorta appointment with the third best lap time of group 4, in qualifying. Thanks to a sequence of good results in the qualifying heats, the Polish driver is in the top ten of the intermediate ranking and in Saturday afternoon's final he does not make any mistake, confirming his position in the Top 10. Significant comebacks for Kai Rillaerts and Aleksandar Bogunovic: the Belgian driver, who clinches third position in Friday morning's warm-up, climbs the rankings by 8 positions, while the Slovenian climbs 14 positions from the starting grid.
Sebastiano Pavan also shows to be competitive, with two second places in his eliminatory heats and a Top 5 position in Super Heat B. Unfortunately, the Italian driver has to raise the white flag early in the final. Zoe Florescu Polotea continues her training in view of the upcoming World Championship, scheduled on next October. Second official presence with our colours for Suleiman and Sofia Zanfari, while the two Brazilians Alfredo Ibiapina and Gustavo Galvão make their debut.

The Tony Kart Racing Team will continue its activity on track with the FIA Karting World Championship OK-OKJ (October 5 - 8), still at Franciacorta.
