Activity continues on the track for the WSK Champions Cup, the first round of the season, on the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato. After the first day of Friday, in which the qualifications and the first qualifying heats took place, on Saturday all the remaining heats for the four categories present in the race were held: KZ2, OK, OKJ and MINI. The starting grids for Sunday's pre-finals were then decided.

KZ2: An unbeatable Senna Van Walstijn stays in front

Tyres: Vega

  • Senna Van Walstijn (Sodikart - Sodikart - TM Racing) is not satisfied with taking pole position and setting the track record. The new Sodikart official driver also wins the heats, winning all three to seal the first position in the standings and consequently the departure from pole for tomorrow's pre-final.

  • Thanks to two third and a fourth places, David Trefilov (Maranello SRP Factory Team - Maranello - TM Racing) maintains his second position. The Maranello SRP Factory Team rider proves to be very competitive and in fact prints the fastest lap in two heats, but some difficult starts prevent him from fighting wheel to wheel with Van Walstijn. The German driver manages to put the wheels ahead of the Dutchman only in the very first corners of the second battery, but at the end of the first lap he finds himself already behind. The duel is therefore postponed until tomorrow.

  • In third place an excellent Matteo Zanchi (Zanchi Motorsport - Birel ART - TM Racing) climbs, gaining three positions compared to qualifying thanks to a second, a third and a fifth place in the heats.

  • On the other hand, Emilien Denner (Sodikart - Sodikart - TM Racing), fourth in the standings, loses one position compared to the qualification. After winning fourth place in the first heat, in the second the French driver slips 10th during the first lap, before recovering up to fifth place. The standard bearer of the Sodikart team ends the day with a second place in the last heat, proving to everyone that tomorrow he can be a contender for victory.

  • Fifth place is occupied by Arthur Carbonnel (CPB Sport - Sodikart - TM Racing), who gets a second, a fourth and a fifteenth place (eighth at the finish, but relegated by a five-second penalty due to the nose in the incorrect position) in the heats. The CPB Sport team bishop overtakes Van Walstijn at the start of the second heat, but only holds the lead for two laps before giving in to the strength of the Dutch driver.

  • Daniel Stell (NB Motorsport - Lenzokart - TM Racing) confirms himself at the top of the standings with sixth place. After having conquered the sixth place in the first heat, in the second the standard bearer of the NB Motorsport team slips 20 ° during the first lap, to then recover up to the tenth place. The German driver gains another five positions in the third battery and even signs the fastest lap, thus becoming a candidate for the leading role for tomorrow.

  • Positive day also for Markus Kajak (Ward Racing - Tony Kart - Vortex) and Michael Barbaro Paparo (IPK Official Racing Team - IPK - TM Racing), respectively seventh and eighth. The standard bearer of the IPK Official Racing Team gains five positions compared to qualifying and finishes the first two heats in the top ten, but in the third battery an excited first lap sees him slip to the back of the grid and forces him to climb up to 14th place.

  • Ninth in the standings is an amazing Jannik Julius Bernhart (NB Motorsport - Lenzokart - TM Racing). After being relegated to the last place in qualifying, the German driver recovers 17 positions in the first heat, finishing close to the top ten, but is then relegated to the 15th place by a five-second penalty due to the nose being in the wrong position. The standard bearer of the NB Motorsport team gains another seven positions in the second heat to conquer the top ten and is confirmed in the top ten also in the last heat.

  • Even that of Rousseau Corentin (CPB Sport - Sodikart - TM Racing) is an excellent path, gaining two positions compared to qualifying and closing the top ten thanks to his consistency.

  • Difficult day and with some hitches, however, for Thomas Imbourg (CPB Sport - Sodikart - TM Racing), Celian Gallasin (CRG Racing Team - CRG - TM Racing) and Alex Maragliano (Renda Motorsport - Birel ART - TM Racing), respectively 13th, 15th and 20th.

The standard bearer of the DPK Racing team was forced to start detached from the group in the second heat and to climb up to 13th position, but he still found himself at the top of the standings thanks to the fourth place obtained in the first heat and the sixth place obtained in the third.

  • Nicola Lacorte (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME) and Alvise Rodella (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME) complete the top ten with solid performances.

  • Unlucky day, however, for Filip Niewiadomski (Alonso Kart by Kidix - KR - IAME), who slips to 14th place after retiring in two heats. The standard bearer of the Alonso Kart by Kidix team nevertheless proves his competitiveness in the last heat, recovering seven positions to conquer ninth place complete with a fast lap.
