WSK Euro Series, rd 1, Sarno: OK Final - Gray wins the final after a masterclass weekend

Oliver Gray (Leclerc by Lennox Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing) confirms himself in the Prefinal and Final in what for him is a weekend for the books to be remembered for a long time. The Englishman conquered the final with a lead of over a second on his direct pursuer and after losing the head of the race. Leadership, however, that he would regain after just four laps and keep until the finish line.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) and Juho Valtanen (Pantano Team - KR - IAME) give us the only real thrill of the race, a very tight final, of course, but with few overtakes at the top. The Finn first takes the lead in the race, then he has to defend the second position from the Italian. The KR Motorsport rookie, however, adopts the right strategy. After trying the attack in the first half of the race, he slowed his pace in the central laps and then made the move that gives him the second step of the podium, right when Valtanen, who will have to settle for third place, was struggling keep tyre wear and temperatures at bay.

Down the podium are Dilano Van't Hoff (Forza Racing - Exprit - TM Racing), Matheus Morgatto (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing), Taylor Barnard (Rosberg Racing Academy - KR - IAME) Luigi Coluccio ( Kosmic Kart Racing Department - Kosmic -Vortex), who was handed a 5 seconds penalty, Enzo Trulli (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) and Thomas Ten Brinke (Ricky Flynn Motorsport - Kosmic - Vortex), also penalized with 5 seconds.

One of the protagonists of the weekend, Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart- Vortex), does not even start the final. The Englishman ended out of the race in the Prefinal due to an unfortunate collision with Valtanen while Turney tried to overtake him to take the lead.

It was unlucky final for three other protagonists of the weekend too who, due to contacts or technical problems, ended up at the bottom of the classification. We are talking about Robert De Haan (Energy Corse - Energy - TM Racing) and Rafael Camara (Forza Racing - Exprit - TM Racing). Some didn't retire but couldn't do better than an 18th-place finish like Clayton Ravenscroft (Birel Art Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing), also penalized by 5 seconds.

Despite a brilliant comeback, it's day of what could have been for Jamie Day (Leclerc by Lennox Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing) the winner's teammate: the Englishman recovers 10 positions on the starting grid, despite a penalty of 5 seconds, and closes 11th.
