The Leclerc by Lennox Racing team continues to significantly move forwards on the path to competitiveness by holding an excellent second stage of the WSK Super Master Series. The entire line-up of the structure that brings the Charles Leclerc by Birel ART chassis to the track is showed itself to be growing strongly at the South Garda Karting in Lonato, although some adverse circumstances prevented us from obtaining even better results, certainly in line with our possibilities. We in any case went home with the first top-ten placement of the season and good indications in view of the next events.

I am very happy with the progress I have seen from the whole team, particularly the younger drivers in OKJ and OK – stated the team manager Jordon Lennox-Lamb. Everyone has proved they are doing well since the first free practice, once again confirming how good the base we started from was. Too bad for bad luck, especially in KZ2. Now we just have to keep working on improving more and more and be able to avoid certain situations”.

Returning to the race, in OK Jamie Day easily reached the final thanks to his top-ten placing in the qualifying heats and seventh place in the pre-final. Too bad for the imperfect start, because the Englishman showed he was up with the leading drivers. Roman Sharapov also managed to win the decisive race, during which he recovered seven positions (in addition to the nine recovered in the pre-final).

The two retirements suffered on Friday and Saturday instead affected Oliver Gray’s weekend. However, one of our drivers showed the most marked progress. In the pre-final, in particular, Oliver marks the fastest lap, before having to retire due to a contact that happened in the tussle of the race.
As for the drivers involved in OKJ, Rafael Modonese managed to recover 21 positions between the timed tests and qualifying Heats, subsequently disputing an excellent test also in the pre-final. Despite an early ending, the speed achieved was really satisfying. Ivan Domingues also reached the pre-final, where he recovered 13 positions and missed access to the decisive race by a whisker. More difficulties for Kostin Platon, who in any case accumulated other valuable experience for his professional growth.

The weekend of our drivers in KZ2 was decidedly positive, ending with seventh place in the final obtained by Viktor Gustavsson after a 6-position recovery. The Swedish driver also adds a heats victory to his booty. Benjamin Törnqvist also did very well, with a fast lap in the heats and achieving an excellent fifth place in the pre-final. Unfortunately, our main driver was subject to some difficulties at the start. In the final, slipping to the bottom of the grid, but from here he did well to recover 11 positions before the end of the race. A lot of bad luck for Matteo Viganò as well, who stopped by two consecutive retirements, one of which was in the pre-final.

The Leclerc by Lennox Racing team will be back on the track in two weeks’ time, when the third round of the WSK Super Master Series will take place at the La Conca di Maglie International Circuit (Italy): our drivers will be racing in the OKJ and OK classes.
