TKART Staff
31 October 2024

An emblematic player in world karting and an active partner of BRP-Rotax since 2012, Birel ART brilliantly highlighted the quality of its chassis and its know-how at the prestigious Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. Involved in the Mini Max, Max DD2 and also DD2 Masters categories with its products in the colours of Charles Leclerc, the Italian factory supplied more than 180 karts for this key event of the season organised in 2024 in Italy, on the Naples International Circuit in Sarno.

Building on a legendary history spanning more than 60 years, Birel ART continues to expand worldwide, reinforcing its role as an ambassador for karting on an international scale. With the latest success of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of its creation, through its strong commitment to BRP-Rotax Birel ART confirms its desire to offer the best in technology, performance and service to drivers, whatever their nationality or objectives.

Fairness and performance on the agenda
For the return of the Rotax World Grand Final to Italian soil, the Birel ART factory was keen to guarantee exemplary organisation once again. Backed by a team with recognised expertise, it efficiently managed the logistics of 180 karts, which were manufactured, assembled, transported and supplied to the drivers with great efficiency. The drivers benefited from the proven qualities of the Birel ART chassis, and the enthusiastic feedback received throughout the week of competition confirmed the participants' level of satisfaction.

Used respectively in Mini and DD2, the C28 S16 and CRY30 RX S16 models proved to be particularly competitive. They ensured perfect sporting fairness and contributed actively to the success of the event. For Birel ART and the RMC Grand Finals, this 2024 edition marked the beginning of the event's association with the name of Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc. This prestigious partnership further enhances the reputation of both parties.

Congratulations to Babicek, De Ruwe and Picot
A total of 391 drivers from 60 different countries travelled to Sarno. The show was of a very high standard in all categories, and particularly in those using a Birel ART chassis. In the Rotax 125 Mini Max class, the top five finishers were all within 6 tenths of each other. The Czech Zdenek Babicek won the Final sprint ahead of Britain's Albert Friend and Estonia's Nikita Ljubimov. In Max DD2, the Slovenian pushed all the way to the finish, and ended up on the top step of the podium ahead of Dutchman Semm Knopjes and Germany's Nikita Gense.

In the DD2 Masters, it was not until the very end of the race that the Final podium took shape. Behind France's Nicolas Picot, the logical winner, and Argentina's Matias Rodriguez, Lithuania's Martynas Tankevicius took 3rd place by just 21 thousandths from Haralds Garkakli.
