The FIA World Motor Sport Council met on Tuesday 23 June 2026, as part of the FIA Conference currently underway in Macau, SAR.
The following decisions were taken by the World Council regarding FIA Karting:
FIA Global Karting Plan continues to deliver more affordable motor sport with 2026 FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup confirmed

The second edition of the FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup will be hosted by Motor Sports Singapore (MSS) and return to the LYL International Circuit in Malaysia from19-22 November 2026.
The inaugural edition of the event last year showcased the new era for FIA Karting with over 100 drivers participating from 50 countries in every global region. Cutting entry costs by up to two thirds compared to traditional international karting competitions, 91% of drivers said the format makes it easier for them to compete. 15 girls also participated last year, the most female participation in any FIA Karting event, reflecting the format’s potential to identify and support a new generation of rising motor sport stars.
This year, phase two of the rollout of the FIA Global Karting Plan began and includes continental Arrive and Drive championships in Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America. These championships act as qualifying championships for the Arrive and Drive World Cup to diversify the pipeline of emerging motor sport talent and open new pathways into the sport by bringing the Arrive and Drive format closer to global communities.
The event will again feature a junior and senior category with OTK Group selected as the official kart supplier and Vega selected as the official tyre supplier.
Use of wet tyres

In the event of the final race being declared a wet race in FIA Karting competitions of the OK, Junior, KZ and KZ2 categories, all drivers must now start on a new set of wet tyres. This update to the sporting regulations ensures sporting fairness as drivers may have faced different track conditions during the qualifying phase of the event and thus encountered varying levels of degradation to their wet tyres.
In dry conditions it is already mandatory for finalists to start the final on a new set of slick tyres and this amendment therefore brings the regulations covering the use of slick and wet tyres into alignment.
New helmet regulation

Regulations have been updated to allow drivers under 15 with a head circumference greater than 59cm to use a different helmet standard. Previously, drivers under 15 years of age were required to wear helmets aligned to the Snell-FIA CM standards which restrict the size of the helmet to 59cm.
Drivers aged up to 15 with head circumferences of 60cm or more may now use one of the following helmet standards if the helmet weighs no more than 1,500g including paint, visor and all accessories:
- Snell-Foundation K2015 (not valid after 31.12.2028), K2020, SA2015 (not valid after 31.12.2028) and SA2020
- FIA 8859-2015 (no longer accepted after 31.12.2035)
- FIA 8859-2024 and FIA 8859-2024 ABP
- FIA 8878-2024
- FIA 8860-2010 (not valid after 31.12.2028)
- FIA 8860-2018 and FIA 8860-2018-ABP
- Snell-FIA CM (Snell-FIA CMS2016 and Snell-FIA CMR2016)
Rear axle regulations
For safety reasons, regulations have been updated to prohibit the use of tube inserts into the axles of Group 1 and Group 2 karts which protrude beyond the ends of the axle.
