The hat-trick achieved in the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship in Sarno – with Freddie Slater, Daniel Vasile and Cristian Bertuca in the KZ2 category – is Birel Art's umpteenth success in the international arena, which adds to its long list of victories. However, the Italian manufacturer also has a lot to celebrate in Spain because he has been one of the leading characters of the CEK (Campeonato de España de Karting) for two years now.

The commitment in Spain stems from the intuition of Miguel Aragonés, a mechanic with more than twenty years of experience with various official teams: «I attended a race in the Spanish championship in 2021 and I noticed that the Birel Art was valid, but could definitely be improved as presence and service. So I spoke with Ronni Sala (President and CEO of Birel Art. ed), I proposed to become the reference importer for Spain and to create a team for the Spanish championship», says Miguel Aragonés.

Through its Karting Sport-Import, Aragonés is the official distributor of Birel Art, Charles Leclerc, Kubica Racing Kart and Ricciardo Kart chassis in Spain and directly assists on the track (under the Birel Art España banner) the teams involved with the products of the Italian company.

In the 2022 season, Birel Art España achieved a series of positive results and expanded the presence of the brand, reaching more than twenty riders competing in the Spanish championship. Aragonés is satisfied with the work done in just 12 months: "We took several podiums during the year and, through our proposal, we managed to capture the interest of some teams, now by our side".

Starting from 2023, Birel Art has entrusted the exclusivity of its chassis in Spain to Aragonés and there have also been some interesting successes on the track. In the third round of the Spanish championship alone, held at the International Karting Circuit of MotorLand Aragón last June, Birel Art achieved four one-two finishes, all with MDC Racing: two in MINI, with Tony Cachafeiro Ferre and Nuvola Morales Mendez, and two in Junior , with Sandro Perez Sanchez and Javier Bogdan Broasca.

There were also podiums in Senior and KZ. Dominguez Espinosa (Monlau Motorsport) and Aaron Garcia Lopez (MDC Racing) each collected a Top 3 in the single speed kart category, while the Monlau Motorsport trio of Santiago Vallve Martin, Gerard Cebrian Ariza and Josep Vea Terrado took home four podiums in total.

Birel Art España will be busy again on the weekend of 29 September – 1 October at Circuito Internacional de Zuera, not far from Zaragoza, for the last round of the CEK, with the chance of being able to win the drivers' title in all four categories (MINI, Junior, Senior and KZ).
