Ft. Lauderdale, FL - April 3, 2018 - With the opening round of the 2018 United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) this weekend at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida, Emmo Fittipaldi will make his debut with Team BENIK. Competing in the IAME Mini Swift division, the son of the 1972 and 1974 Formula One World Champion as well as the winner of the 1989 and 1993 Indianapolis 500 will look to make his mark and continued to build on his resume of solid and consistent race results.
“We would like to welcome Emmo to Team BENIK,” explained Ben Cruttenden. “We have always had to race against Emmo and his talents and it great to have him on our side and in our program. Utilizing a Supertune USA powered 2018 BENIK chassis, we are confident that Emmo will be in the hunt for race wins, podium results and pole positions form the very first official event day.”
Already testing throughout Florida on a few occasions, Emerson Fittipaldi is excited that his son will be part of one North America’s top cadet karting programs.
“Emmo has been training hard and gaining experience with each and every event,” explained the eldest of the Fittipaldis. “He is only 11-years so we need to start planning for the future in the coming years. Joining Team BENIK now gives him the best possible chance to win and carry on the Fittipaldi family tradition.”
Set to embark on a busy season of karting, Emmo will begin this weekend at the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) as well as continue on to compete in the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour, the SKUSA SuperNationals, the ROK Cup Promotions ROK the RIO event in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as the Sunshine State Karting Challenge program and select World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup events.
Receiving support from Rev Group, Fittipaldi Wheels and OMP, the youngest Emerson will look to follow in the footsteps of Fittipaldi family members starting this weekend with the support from Team BENIK.
