July 2, 2018 – Confirming their participation in the 2018 US Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals, Speed Concepts Racing (SCR) will enter this weekend’s New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) event with a strong four driver lineup including team newcomer, Luca Mars. With National Championships on the line and invitations to join Team USA at the Rotax Grand Finals in Brazil later this year, this weekend’s event is an important one for the SCR team and drivers.
“First off, we would like to welcome Luca Mars to the team,” expressed Mike Speed, Owner of Speed Concepts Racing. “I have had my eye on him for quite sometime as he had much success as a Cadet driver. The timing was now right to bring Luca into our program as he has huge potential for the future and will surely benefit from our way of doing things and our driver development efforts.”
Competing aboard a Speed Concepts Racing prepared Tony Kart, Mars will join Canadian Justin Arseneau as he continues to come into his own and looks to build off his consistent frontrunner experience in Rotax competition in 2017. Luke Lange returns to Speed Concepts Racing for his second event under the watchful eye of long-time tuner Louie Pagano while Noah Baker, fresh off of a couple of major karting victories, will be the sole entry for SCR in the Mini Max class and hopes to continue his consistent progress.
“I am confident on our driver lineup for the Rotax Grand Nationals and am excited to work with Luca and the rest of our drivers,” explained Speed Concepts Racing Driver Coach Alex Speed. “Every driver that has entered our program has improved and become a constant frontrunner, and with the engine equality promised by Rotax, I think our drivers will rise to the forefront.”
Kyffin Simpson was set to return to the Speed Concepts Racing lineup for the Rotax Grand Nationals but a last minute change of plans will see the talented youngster return to the seat for the Superkarts! USA SummerNationals at New Castle Motorsports Park in August.
Festivities will kick off this coming Wednesday with wheel-to-wheel action commencing Friday. Be sure to follow Speed Concepts Racing on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for news, results and photos. Find them at 'Speed Concepts Racing' or @SCR_Karting.
