After an exciting season, culminating with the victory in the 2019 KZ FIA Karting World Championship, Birel ART has thought about the classes for the youngest drivers presenting the new C28 S11 for the MINI categories. The chassis has a renewed design, in particular in the fuel tank area, where the frame makes a double curve compared to the previous model which featured only a single curve. The design has features that are reminiscent of higher category chassis and it has been designed with the aim of increasing performance while improving the consistency of tires’ performance. An additional change is in the seat attachment, which has been revised to facilitate its fastening. The system allows you to screw some brackets into the chassis, tilting them in several positions without having to alter the frame’s attachments and incurring the risk of breaking them. Additionally, with this system, the chassis is freer from the tensions caused by an incorrect fastening. On the Cs of the C28 S 11 we find an 18 position adjustable ring nut to characterize the geometry of the caster and camber. There are two fastening screws on the ring nut, to guarantee a tight adjustment even when the chassis is stressed on the track. The support of the adjustable steering column (above the fuel tank), a distinctive feature of the Lissone company is verified on the C28 S11. By loosening a single screw, it is possible to vary the inclination of the entire column to adapt the cart to the driver’s height. The steering column has three adjustments on its plate, offering increased options for setting up the Ackermann angle. The support is an open case, in line with the Birel ART higher chassis categories and has several holes to modify the position of the footrest board, thus offering different positions depending on the driver’s stature. A new axle bearing support flange with a compact dimension stands out at the rear, specifically designed for the needs of the mini chassis.
