LK-Electric, the name of the LenzoKart, a new kart line which has in the electric engine the “heart” of a project aimed at cutting down polluting emissions while guaranteeing low-costs and ease of use. With regard to Mini Karts designed for the younger drivers, LK-Electric offers two versions: The Racing and the Rental product line. The latter, available in two graphic designs, LenzoKart or Luxor (the two brands of the Sicilian company) presents various modifications to the chassis compared to the racing model, implemented to increase the safety of the younger and generally less experienced drivers, who enjoy the challenge of indoor karting. The main modifications are: the presence of the roll-bar which protects the drivers in the event of a roll-over, four-point harnesses, adjustable seat mounted on two brackets which allow a movement of approximately 15 cm. This allows for a more adaptable driving position for the kids’ different heights and also having an adjustable pedal system complete with footrest.
There are different devices to ensure a greater sturdiness in the Mini Kart in case of an impact against the barriers: the perimeter fairing allows for a 360-degree protection of the vehicle, while the traditional tie-rods, normally a delicate point in racing karts, are replaced by a reinforced sturdy plastic composite version. The most pronounced difference is found in the frontal area, where the LK-Electric Mini Kart version features a direct fastening feature to the front spoiler, a system able to better handle the brunt of a potential frontal collision.

The electric engine, of course, is not an absolute novelty in the world of karting, as various manufacturers have offered this type of engine in their rental karts. However, the product designed by LenzoKart for its LK-Electric Mini Kart line, distinguishes itself for its weight and reduced size. Characteristics which allow the installation of the power-unit on any racing chassis, without the need for any structural modifications.
The electric unit unleashes 1250 watts, usable on different types of engine’s revolutions, up to a max of 4000 rpm, thus allowing to vary the power according to the driver’s age and the track where the kart is been used. The parameters can be set through a smartphone and tablet application, or by LenzoKart, which utilizes the Bluetooth connection technology. Presently, the modifications can be implemented only while the kart is idle, but soon it will be possible to change the parameters while the kart is being driven.
The transmission is carried out by means of a belt, a system which allows for almost totally eliminating maintenance compared to the classic belt. The whole system is protected by a cover which completely encloses all the moving parts, thus guaranteeing complete maximum safety.
