The S55, with 30 mm diameter tubing, is new in the sense that it is a re-homologated model that has done well in the past, thanks to its "light" driving and top performance on high-grip conditions, so on rubbery circuits and with soft tread tires. Because of its features, the S55 is ideal for competitive events that include multiple race sessions and that take a tough toll on tires with agressive driving and elevated grip conditions. This is why the target market is Europe.
The S197, instead, is a brand new product, with an innovative chassis geometry and 32 mm diameter frame tubes. It stands as the counter-part to the S55 in terms of features and behavior, designed to guarantee top performance standards in low grip conditions, so on slick tracks and with hard mesh tires. It is targeted to the USA and Australian market where these conditions are the norm.

Both the S55 and S197 feature a new brake system engineered by TBKart and produced by K Kart (in the past TBKart used CRG brakes and pads). The floating cast iron disc and all other elements are carved from solid metal with computer numeric controlled (CNC) machinery.
"New" is the name of the game also for the side fairings, now made by KG Duo Evo, while the front spolier and nose are by Buro. The side pod attachment system is also new and improved, featuring nylon inserts and lock bolts (instead of simple springs), for enhanced adjustability of chassis rigidity (the looser the bolts, the softer the chassis).
