THE ESSENTIAL ACCESSORIES MOUNTED BY THE DPK RACING TEAM ON THE KART REPUBLIC KR2 OK WORLD CHAMPION IN SARNO IN 2022

There are many variables that drivers and teams have to face to win a kart World Championship: from the weather conditions to the grip of the track, from the engine tuning to the search for the best chassis set-up ... Then, when everything is decided in a single test, the task of the teams and their standard bearers becomes even more challenging, because time is limited, the margin of error is zero and the stakes are very high. This was the case of the FIA Karting World Championship OK, held in Italy, in Sarno on the “Circuito Internazionale Napoli” over the weekend of 16-18 September. This track, a protagonist in the international karting scene since 1999 (but with a new design in 2021), has a fast track (102 km/h average in the best lap recorded compared to the 100 km/h of Le Mans and the 96 km/h of Genk, in the latest FIA 2022 competitions) with its length of 1,550 metres, with long straights and wide radius bends. This conformation, together with an asphalt that is appreciated for its good level of grip, is often a guarantee of contested and spectacular races. After attending the final of the OK class, the premier class of single-speed karting, where MG SM tyres (yellow) were used, we closely analysed the Kart Republic KR2 (for further information, read the “Under Review - KR2 M.Y. 2022: the single-speed Kart Republic chassis evolves to keep winning”) of the winner Matheus Morgatto, driver of the Spanish team DPK Racing managed by the brothers Diego and Pablo Rodrìguez. In this Must have TKART we will indicate which accessories and solutions in terms of set-up were adopted by the Brazilian driver and the Spanish team, on a sunny day in late summer, with an average temperature of 21 degrees.

HUBS AND RIMS

The rims mounted on the Morgatto chassis in the final are the AMV-branded 9Fs (which TKART analysed, together with the entire range offered by AMV, in the "Special - AMV kart rims: the definitive buying guide"). Made of magnesium and subjected to the OXiTECH treatment (for further information, "How to - How kart rims are produced"), the rims, 130 mm at the front and 212 mm at the rear, have a "low volume" profile and are particularly suitable for extremely rubberized tracks. As for the hubs, we opted for the standard Kart Republic model, also made of magnesium, 25 x 93 mm at the front and 50 x 98 mm at the rear.

  • Rims set AMV OXiTECH 9F (standard mount) [A06.714]: about 488 euro

  • Front wheel hub Kart Republic Ø25-93 OK [K010000I0523F]: about 114 euro (per single accessory)

  • Rear wheel hub Kart Republic Ø50-98 OK [K01000IZ0207F]: about 115 euro (per single accessory)
