Karting manufacturers are by definition inaccessible: they guard technical secrets and know-how that are reluctantly revealed to the public. Among these, engine manufacturers are perhaps the most impenetrable, because an engine's performance—more than that of other kart components—is closely linked to its production process. For this reason, it's extremely rare to cross the threshold of a world-leading manufacturer of racing kart engines. Yet that's exactly what happened when we entered the new headquarters of TM Kart S.r.l. in Pesaro: a 2,500-square-meter facility inaugurated in 2023, where every detail (such as the highly distinctive architectural style and the black assembly benches designed to reduce glare, to name just a couple) conveys a precise vision of how a racing engine should be produced. TM Kart was born from the split of the historic TM Racing: after the passing of Claudio Flenghi, one of the two founders, the motorcycle division separated from the karting division. The latter was reborn under the name TM Kart, under the leadership of the founder's sons, Filippo and Thomas Flenghi, who remained at the helm of the company even after TM Kart joined the OTK Kart Group in 2025. The technical and industrial legacy of decades of victories from the TM Racing karting division is now part of a completely new, modern, cutting-edge facility for the world of karting. The new headquarters represents much more than just a production facility: it is the place where the company's new era takes shape. A building designed to combine production efficiency and the well-being of its employees.
The new TM Kart headquarters is the result of the redevelopment of an existing building, through the recovery of a disused structure. The project is therefore based on the principle of "building on the existing," avoiding the consumption and waterproofing of new soil. The structure extends over two floors. The ground floor houses the production area, which includes the following spaces: a museum-like hall with reception; a metrology room and technical office; a warehouse and shipping area; an engine assembly and pre-assembly area; an area dedicated to milling operations; a racing department; an R&D department with a test bench; and an area dedicated to 3- and 5-axis machining centers, combined with anthropomorphic robots and an extensive pallet warehouse. The upper floor is dedicated to offices and includes a training room; an open space; individual offices and a meeting room.
