Parolin Racing Kart has long distinguished itself through its ongoing commitment to the technical evolution of its products. With each new FIA Karting homologation cycle, the Italian manufacturer regularly introduces innovative solutions to update and refine its range. In the field of braking systems – marketed under the Eurostar brand, the dedicated accessories line from Parolin Racing Kart – the AP Race 06, homologated in 2018 (FIA Karting homologation code 017-B2-44), remained in use for six consecutive seasons. It proved to be a solid and widely appreciated technical solution, so much so that it has been confirmed again for the new 2025–2027 homologation period. The case of the AP Race 07 is quite different. Although introduced in 2022 (FIA Karting homologation code 017-B2-07), it was never brought to market, following an internal decision by the company. Now, with the new 2025 homologation cycle – covering bodywork, chassis and braking systems – Parolin Racing Kart unveils the AP Race 08: a completely new braking system developed for the single-speed categories. It has been designed to improve brake modulation for both Senior and Junior class drivers, while also offering increased durability. The new system, homologated under FIA Karting code 017-BRKR-01, retains the same master cylinder as the AP Race 06 – a testament to the proven quality of the previous model – but introduces key updates to the remaining components: a completely redesigned caliper and newly engineered brake discs.

To better appreciate the themes explored in this Tech Focus, we recommend reading the article “Tech Talk | Kart braking system: the different technical and manufacturing approaches compared” It offers a comprehensive overview of the main design philosophies in karting and provides useful context for understanding the technical choices made by Parolin Racing Kart.

Undoubtedly, the most significant innovation of the new AP Race 08 braking system concerns the brake caliper, which has been completely redesigned both in its structure and in the internal hydraulic circuit. The key update involves the pistons operating the brake pads, whose diameter has been reduced by 4.5 mm compared to the previous model. This modification results in more progressive, controllable and predictable braking. The brake pads have also been updated and developed specifically for this system. Alongside an optimised bite that ensures consistent and manageable response, the new pads deliver more uniform friction material wear, contributing to greater braking stability and long-term reliability.
