"You can use car brakefluid, provided the type of fluid is DOT 4, because lower grade oils may come to a boil and create a number of problems. You can also use higher grade oils, such as DOT 5 or DOT 5.1. However, they are much more aggressive on the internal components of the pump and the rubber grommets that, unless purpose-built, end up expanding and can cause problems to the brakingsystem."

I would say ‘yes’, even though good traction is determined by several factors and does not depend on the axlealone. The goal is to have the tyres at the righttemperature: a soft axle warms the tyres up more slowly, meaning that during a race there is less grip initially, but there are advantages towards the end, when the tyres reach the correcttemperature. Conversely, a hard axle warms tyres up more quickly, providing greater grip at the start of a race and perhaps less towards the end, when the tyres overheat. The secret is maintaining the tyres as constant as possible in the correct range of operating temperatures by choosing axle hardness also on the basis of the track’sgrip.
