Horsepower is not “created” or “removed” with the crankshaft, yet we can “move” it. The crankshaft does not have combustion inside, so it cannot generate power, yet it can help us in the engine optimization. For example, if we have a cylinder that favors high rotation ranges, we can balance the power to supply the lows. We could say that the crankshaft can help in fine-tuning the engine range of use as needed.
