On discs up to 180 mm in diameter, you can easily opt for a non-floating disc, without suffering any negative effects. Indeed, a disc that is fixed to the disc housing has its advantages, such as lower wearing of the disc itself, of the pins and of the disc housing. Ultimately, in these cases, a floating disc requires more maintenance and has more components that could fail. If, on the other hand, we take into consideration diameters greater than 180 mm, where the outermost point of the disc is more subjected to the flexing of the axle, a floating disc is the right choice.
