“The pain is often caused by the muscle being pinched between the ribs. I recommend choosing the size carefully and adjusting the bodice correctly. Most of the modifications by the driver, in fact, will make the problem worse. Furthermore, modifications are not allowed with the new FIA approved rib protectors”.
