The most significant variable in karting is establishing the centre of gravity of the kart-driver combination (which has a huge effect on performance), neglecting comfort. In this sense, the position of the seat plays a fundamental role and, therefore, should not be taken lightly. Generally, it is the chassis manufacturers who indicate the optimal seat mounting position, dictated according to the kart driver’s height (in order to have the right distance between the seat, the pedals and the steering wheel) and the standard set-up with the various chassis supplied by each brand.
