SINGLE GEAR

TRANSMISSION
The TM Kart MINI 3 and MINI 3B engines belong to the Direct Drive category, therefore without gears, like all the engines intended for younger drivers who are approaching their first competitions. Unlike other Direct Drive engines, they are equipped with a centrifugal clutch, which allows the engine to remain on even when the kart is stationary.

HOMOLOGATION
The MINI 3 and MINI 3B engines have been designed and manufactured by TM Kart for the MINI FIA Karting Group 3 categories. Their international homologation (which you can find here for the MINI 3 and here for the MINI 3B) ensures that owners can participate in all types of events that follow the CIK-FIA regulations (to learn more, read “Special | FIA approvals: what they are, what they are for, how long they last... The ultimate guide!”).

For the 2023-2025 FIA Karting homologation cycle (which concerns engines, carburetors, ignitions and intake silencers), TM Kart has updated its range of engines for the MINI 60cc Group 3 category, launching the new MINI 3 and MINI 3B models, built and homologated according to FIA Karting specifications. Since their debut, in early 2023, these engines have demonstrated reliability and high performance both in national competitions and international multi-brand events, such as the WSK Promotion competitions. This success has made them a popular choice among drivers aged between 8 and 12.

To learn more about the innovations introduced by TM Kart, we went to the company headquarters in Pesaro (Italy). The MINI 3 and MINI 3B models, while retaining many of the technical foundations of the MINI 2 (for more information, read "Under Review | MINI 2: the TM Racing 60 cc engine, homologated by CIK-FIA"), feature new solutions designed to improve power management and engine efficiency. The two MINI 3 and MINI 3B models are the same in many ways, but differ in some internal components, particularly in the connecting rods and the coupling system with the piston pin. For example, the connecting rod of the MINI 3, unlike that of the MINI B3B, is DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treated. But that's not all, there's more.
