Among New Zealanders, Poles, Americans, Germans, Canadians and a large tricolor patrol, the Xmotors Team driver, from Volpago del Montello, is nineteenth.

An intense week, full of adrenaline, saw the young Marco Chiarello as the protagonist, returning from a ROK Cup Superfinal that saw him fight with opponents from many parts of the globe, from October 19 to October 22, ending with a painful but constructive nineteenth position, out of thirty-six starters at the start.

The most important event of the year, held at the South Garda Karting in Lonato, brought a large Italian team to the field, seasoned with the presence of New Zealand, American, German and Canadian drivers, starting to get serious with a qualifying session that put the driver of Xmotors Team in difficulty, only twentieth with his Tony Kart 401RR powered by Vortex.

“Thursday, in qualifying, it didn't go very well” - Chiarello says - “because, in addition to a lack of speed for a less than ideal setup, we had a technical problem with the tyres, with the kart pulling to the right. We tried to do our best. "

On the same day the green light went off on the first heat and the young man from Volpago del Montello pushed to recover the lost ground, signing the seventeenth position.
A further step forward was taken by the driver from Treviso on Friday, during a second heat that allowed him to recover two more spots, reaching fifteenth position.
When the progression suggested a third round devoted to approaching the top ten, Chiarello ended up victim of a contact that forced him to grit his teeth and get back on top.
At the checkered flag, the ranking indicated him in twenty-first place in Shifter-ROK.

“In the first heat we continued to have speed problems” - adds Chiarello - “and in fact we recovered little compared to qualifying. On Friday, the situation did not change, but, despite everything, we had climbed up to fifteenth place. In the third heat, when the lights went out, I had gained a few more positions, although I was unable to improve my pace. Three laps from the end I was touched by an opponent who, by making a mistake in braking, made me go off the track. Too bad because this penalized us a lot for the grid."

The final on Saturday saw Chiarello start from seventeenth place, also playing in defence a last act of the week that opened with the recovery of a couple of positions, closing fifteenth before being relegated, with a penalty, to nineteenth.

“We have never been fast” - concludes Chiarello - “but we tried to defend ourselves. Unfortunately, the front fairing was partially retracted, so we took a penalty that brought us back to 19th place. Too bad it went this way, but I am still satisfied with my driving, always growing. Thanks to all partners, my family, Xmotors Team and A.P.E. Racing, in the person of Roberto Pacini. Now we will evaluate whether to be at the start of the ROK Festival which will be held in Franciacorta at the beginning of December."
