New Zealander Daniel Bray put in another outstanding performance at Portimao with the Modena Racing Kart team in the FIA Karting Masters International Super Cup, coming within 5 tenths of victory. Lorenzo Travisanutto made up a massive nine places to finish 8th in the World KZ Championship, while Maksim Orlov and Anatoly Khavalkin made it back into the top 10 in the KZ2 World Cup and Alessio Piccini made up 13 places in the Final.

Lorenzo Travisanutto got off to a good start with a 7th place in Qualifying for the KZ World Championship, but was delayed by a penalty. He was also delayed by a front fairing penalty in Heat 1 and encountered a few difficulties in the following heats as well as in the Super Heat. He regained all his vitality in the Final to make up a total of nine places, finishing in a fine 8th position.

The Modena Racing Kart team got off to a strong start in the KZ2 World Cup with Alessio Piccini setting the 2nd fastest time in his session, placing him 8th out of the 101 participants. He followed this up with four good heats before being forced to retire in the last heat. Only 25th at the start of the Final, he moved up 13 places to finish close to the top 10. Maksim Orlov finished his heats very strongly with two top three finishes and secured a P6 in the Super Heat before making up another four places in the Final with an interesting 7th place finish. Anatoly Khavalkin drove four very good heats, but had to retire in the last one. He made up three places in the Super Heat and continued in the same way in the Final to reach 9th position. Miguel Costa followed a similar pattern, moving up three places in the Super Heat, then three places in the Final to finish 16th. Modena Racing Kart took 3rd place in the KZ2 team rankings.

Finally, Daniel Bray played a leading role in the Masters International Super Cup with a consistency that commands respect. He won two heats and secured 2nd place before winning Super Heat B with a strong lead and the fastest lap. He then put in a superb Final race in the wheel tracks of the winner, whom he led from start to finish.

"Parolin Motorsport and the Modena Kart Team put in a series of good performances throughout the Portuguese weekend, in both wet and dry conditions," said Marco Parolin. "The overall result was positive, although we could have hoped for better results. The Portimao track is not conducive to overtaking, so our drivers' comebacks were all the more remarkable. A big congratulations to Daniel Bray for his 2nd place in KZ2 Masters, where he fought right to the end for victory".

Parolin Motorsport looks forward to seeing you in four weeks' time at Lonato for the first round of the WSK Final Cup.
