Successful SummerNationals in Indiana concluding with four series championships

Victories and championships were earned by OTK USA drivers and teams at the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals. The third event of the championship series garnered a total of six victories over the two days of racing, including 17 podium results and 25 top-five results. With the final rounds of the series concluded at the New Castle Motorsports Park, OTK stood on top of the championship podium in four categories.

Two wins came in the KA100 Junior division by two different drivers for OTK brands. Diego Ardiles (Speed Concepts Racing / CS55) fended off the field to claim his third victory of the season. The win gave Ardiles the series championship one round early. Turner Brown (Rolison Performance Group / Kosmic) drove to second with Dean Pedersen (Nash Motorsportz / EOS) recording his first SKUSA Pro Tour podium. Brown was able to improve by one position in Sunday’s main event, beating Ardiles to the checkered flag in Round Six to claim his second victory of the season. The win put Brown into second in the championship standings behind Ardiles.

OTK won in four other categories on the weekend. The headline Pro X30 division welcomed history as Ryan Norberg (Rolison Performance Group / Kosmic) claimed his record-setting sixth SKUSA Pro Tour history with a sweep of the SummerNationals. Trailing by 97.5 points in the standings heading into the weekend, Norberg gained 310 of the 320 possible points on the weekend by leading the Super Pole session, winning both heat races and taking a second victory on the season in the main event. Austin Garrison (Speed Concepts Racing / CS55) put on the pressure throughout the weekend, ending up second for a season best result. OTK swept the podium with Jonathon Portz (Rolison Performance Group / Kosmic) making a return to SKUSA competition with a third-place finish. Hayden Jones (Rolison Performance Group / Kosmic) was in contention for the championship, needing a runner-up result to claim the title. Contact in the opening corner dropped him down to 15th after the opening circuit. He managed to fight his way forward, reaching the fifth spot in the results to place second in the final championship standings.

Two drivers secured their first career SKUSA Pro Tour victories on the weekend. James Overbeck (Brandon Jarsocrak Racing / Tony Kart) triumphed in the KA100 Senior main event on Saturday for his first SKUSA victory. Fernando Luque (Supertune USA / Tony Kart) joined him on the podium in third with privateer Eli Warren (Redspeed) placing fourth. Luque led the way for OTK drivers on Sunday in a wild main event. He finished third ahead of Arizona driver Josh Campbell (Brandon Jarsocrak Racing / LN Racing Kart) who ended up fifth in his SKUSA debut for 2024. Overbeck was eighth in the final round, earning enough points to claim his first SKUSA Pro Tour championship.

Daniel Ramirez (Rolison Performance Group / Kosmic) was the other first time winner. It was a big margin of victory for Ramirez in the Micro Swift main event for Round Five in his first SKUSA Pro Tour triumph, advancing up from starting seventh. Lawrence Peremen (Brandon Jarsocrak Racing / LN Racing Kart) was the hard charger of the race, driving from 18th to fifth. He duplicated the fifth-place finish on Sunday to lead OTK drivers in the category.

Turner Brown (Rolison Performance Group / Kosmic) was able to pick up two wins on the weekend, securing another in the X30 Junior division. Brown earned the top step of the podium in the Round Six main event on Sunday, leading an OTK 1-2-3-4 result. Diego Ardiles (Speed Concepts Racing / CS55) was second, ahead of Nixx Eggleston (Ruthless Karting / Tony Kart) and Chace Gassiot-Lee (Nash Motorsportz / EOS). All four were in the top-five on Saturday as well for Round Five. Ardiles was second with Gassiot-Lee in third, Brown placed fourth and Eggleston in fifth. Ardiles was able to secure the championship, earning two SKUSA Pro Tour titles for 2024 while Brown ended up third in the final standings for X30 Junior.

OTK USA drivers and teams return to Superkarts! USA action later this fall. The SKUSA SuperNationals 27 is slated for November 13-17 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
