On the occasion of the FIA Karting 2025-2027 homologation cycle, the Italian company presents new fairings dedicated to the front of the kart. The new components, in addition to greater aerodynamic efficiency, promise a more homogeneous distribution of the vertical aerodynamic load on the two axes of the kart. But not only that

On the occasion of the 2025-2027 FIA Karting homologation cycle, KG - a leading Italian company in the production of fairings, steering wheels and accessories for karting - introduces two important innovations in its fairing kit for Senior and Junior karts: a new spoiler and a new nassau panel (front panel, front spoiler), both called KG 509. According to the experimental data provided by the company, the new configuration with the two KG 509 spoilers allows to reduce the drag by 10 N at 80 km/h compared to the previous combination consisting of the KG 508 front panel and the KG 507 spoiler. A configuration, the latter, which during the three-year period of 2022-2024 homologations has been widely used and achieved numerous successes, being adopted both by important manufacturers, among which we mention for purely indicative purposes CRG and Birelart and Sodikart - who have used it as original equipment material for the chassis of their brands - and by many teams, which have used it with excellent results in the main international karting competitions. The kit has proven to be effective in both single-brand and multi-brand championships, obtaining, among the numerous results, also victories in the KZ FIA Karting World Championship of 2022 and 2024 (for more information read “Under Review | Complete analysis of the CRG's that came 1st and 3rd at the 2022 FIA KZ karting World Championship in Le Mans” and “Must Have | The accessories (and details) of the Sodi Racing Team Sodikart Sigma KZ winner of the KZ FIA Karting World Championship 2024”). Precisely by virtue of the excellent performance provided, KG has chosen to keep the other components of the kit unchanged, namely the KG 507 side fairings (FIA Karting homologation 003-BS-36) and the KG C3 rear protection (FIA Karting homologation 003-BR-55), already the subject of an in-depth analysis in the “Tech Focus | KG 507 / KG 508 fairings kit: the Drag improves by 8%!”. We will therefore explain why the evolution has focused exclusively on the front part of the kart.

Editor's note
With regard to the KG 508 spoiler panel (FIA Karting homologation 003-BP-78) and the KG 507 spoiler (FIA Karting homologation 003-BF-99), KG has decided to extend their homologation also for the three-year period 2025-2027, thus offering all owners of these components the possibility of continuing to use them in competitions that comply with FIA Karting regulations and that require the use of products and components in the process of homologation.

From a purely visual point of view, the differences between the kit consisting of the KG 507 spoiler and the KG 508 front nassau panel and the new KG 509 kit are evident. The spoiler of the KG 509 kit features [A] two lateral vents called “air curtains”, which are completely absent in the KG 507 version. Furthermore, [B] the central part of the spoiler is slightly hollowed out, with a shape designed to facilitate the entry of air into the Venturi duct of the new front spoiler. Precisely in this sense, [C] the entrance to the Venturi channel on the KG 509 front panel is positioned lower than that of the KG 508. Also on the front spoiler, the KG 509 introduces [D] five horizontal slits along the upper back, which are completely absent in the KG 508.
